I found this from an unrelated search. A bloke posted this on a F1 forum with sources to various articles. I've seen similar figures elsewhere except for Schu's salary, which I do not believe ever exceeded $50 million US

For the 2006 Season: All figures USD and exclude personal endorsements
Michael Schumacher - $62.4m
Ralf Schumacher - $20.4m
Kimi Raikkonen - $14.4m
Juan Pablo Montoya - $13.2m
Rubens Barrichello - $12m
Jarno Trulli - $9.6m
Fernando Alonso - $7.2m
Mark Webber - $7.2m
David Coulthard - $7.2m
Jenson Button - $7.2m
Giancarlo Fisichella - $6m
Nick Heidfeld - $6m
Jacques Villeneuve - $3.6m
Nico Rosberg - $1.8m
Christian Klien - $1.8m
Takuma Sato - $1m (Supposedly got $6.7m from endorsements, made more than Alonso in '06)

For upcoming 2007:
Kimi Raikkonen - $42m http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s85/st101613.htm
Fernando Alonso - $39m
Ralf Schumacher - $20.4m
Rubens Barrichello - $12m
Jarno Trulli - $9.6m
Mark Webber - $7.2m
David Coulthard - $7.2m
Jenson Button - $7.2m
Giancarlo Fisichella - $6m
Nick Heidfeld - $6m
Nico Rosberg - $1.8m
Takuma Sato - $1.0m
Lewis Hamilton - $675,000 (could make Tiger Woods money one day if he breaks records)
Ant Davidson - $250,000

The top guys make huge money, but Tiger Woods is the highest paid in the world. He makes a safe $100 million and that'll probably be $150 million next year because he's getting into golf course design. I heard he'll get $50 million to design his first course in Dubai.

39 mil. for Alonso ?!
I've heard about 18 mil. without extras/endorsments.
I still belive he should have stayed at Renault despite the small salary. A couple more titles and he would have becomed the best payed.

I've also heard lower for both Alonso (about $20 million US) and Raikkonen (about $25 million). But why would Alonso be allowed to do personal endorsements by Mclaren?

It's funny that Ron Dennis continues to have to give out denials about the financial state of Mclaren. There was an article a few days ago suggesting a sale was needed to avert bankruptcy.

Well McLaren will be soon debt free thanks to Vodafone aso.

Nevertheless without MB they wouldn't have made it IMO.

Probably they would have shared the fate of another former great team (and much missed by myself) Lotus (ahh... Jim Clarke, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, Emerson Fitipaldi, Mario Andretti (at his peak) and even Senna).
McLaren won't go bust, just into Daimler-Benz.

If Ron is to be believed, they never had much debt to begin with. I really don't know.

What happened to Lotus? A few years earlier I read that the rights to the Lotus Formula One name was bought by '76 World Champ James Hunt's brother.

wow shumi gets quite bit more than the rest of the field.
I bet they must be really jealous at him

Most of the serious drivers in F1 must already have $25 million in the bank so I don't think they care too much. They may be jealous because Schu has as many World Championships as Senna-Prost combined (7) and just one fewer win than them put together (91).

CarGuy, since you live in Edmonton, have you ever been to the Koutouki Greek Restaurant? It's featured in the Food Network show.

Schumi was the best paid driver and second best paid athlete in the world in the last 10 years.
Ferrari were desperate so they gave him a lot of money, ofcourse in 99 there was a lot of outrage about Schumi's salary and his lack of succes, and Montezemolo is even reported as wanting to bring Mika at Ferrari.

Article suggests Schu will get $6 million for his advisory role. Kimi is reputed to be paid $25 million and Alonso $20 million. These are more consistent with the figures I heard earlier on. The $51 million deal for Kimi or even the $39 million for Alonso some publications quoted seemed very inflated.
