Hi again guys!
After attending my first American LeMans Series race last year at Laguna Seca, I made the instant decision to attend every year possible. So when the 2013 season began, I couldn't wait for the ALMS to visit Laguna Seca.
As I did last year, I took a bunch of photos just to share with you all. Enjoy!!
Of course with any motorsports even, there's as much automotive eye-candy in the parking lots as there is inside the track. Had to take a photo of the M5!
Morning warm-up session. The Tequila Patron LMP2 car from Extreme Speed Motorsports looked great.
Geez!! Looking so hot should be downright illegal!! RTR Mustang.
Fantastic looking Corvette!
More American Muscle... the new Viper!!
Walking through the Paddock, it's always great to watch the teams at work, especially when you get to see the mechanics of the car.
Core Autosports Porsche going through pre-race inspection after failing post-qualifying inspection.
BMW Team RLL's new BMW Z4 GTE. Great to see BMW's adopted the matte black look from Bruno Spengler's DTM M3.
The beast lurks in the shadows!
The traditional white BMW Motorsports livery on the second Z4.
The radically different Deltawing. Looks real sleek, but lacking pace at the moment.
Looking at Turn 11 of this famous track. Plenty of dive-bomb action at this turn over the years.
Checking out the new Z4 GTE up close at pre-race activities. Love this part of the ALMS as the fans get up and close with the cars AND the the drivers.
LMP2 car from ESM. Looking great!!
Muscle Milk's Honda powered LMP1 entry. Fast car all day long!!
Dyson Racing's Mazda Powered LMP1 entry. Mechanical issues forced the car to retire.
Swiss team Rebellion Racing's Toyota powered LMP1 car.
Action at the world-famous Corkscrew!
Under the first caution of the race as a Flying Lizard Porsche gets stuck in the sand trap.
A pack of cars climb up Rahal Straight on the first lap after the caution. LMP2, GT and GTC cars all mixing it up.
Rebellion's LMP1 car... leading comfortably during the first portion of this 4 hour race. Nick Heidfeld piloting the car.
The top-4 of the GT class. Close racing ALL DAY LONG.
TRG's GTC #66 goes wide at Turn 6 as the Deltawing takes evasive action.
West Racing/Alex Job Racing's Ferrari 458 GT. Sounds as great as it looks!!
The Deltawing with its unique looks rounds Turn 5.
Flying Lizard's GTC Porsche gets in the way of the faster GT cars.
The Viper SRT looks damn good..and was bad fast at the start of the race.
Toyota power leading comfortably!
Great view from Turn 5!
The #56 BMW ran strong.. running in the top 3 or 4 all day long.
Muscle Milk LMP1 round Turn 5. Not the prettiest, but one of the fastest!
The Falken Tires Porsche cruising around in second place.
The menacing Viper chancing down the 3rd place Z4.
The always popular, and always fast Corvette. What a sound!!!!
Damaged and mechanically handicapped #55 Z4 out there just trying to get points.
Sweeping around Turn 4.
A little closer look at the BMW Z4 GTE. Great looks, but still not as great as the now-retired M3 GT2 (although the BMW driver's say the Z4 drives better).
Great battle between the Rebellion and Muscle Milk LMP1 cars..especially in the final hour of the race!
Great mix of action as the faster cars deal with the slower GT/C traffic.
The Risi Competizione Ferrari 458 just looks so sexy!
Panorama view from atop the hill. Great place to relax and watch a good portion of the track.
It was another great day of racing! The battle in LMP1 between the Rebellion and Muscle Milk cars was fantastic to watch up until the Rebellion car had a puncture (after contact with Muscle Milk during a great battle!).
In GT, the Corvette was the class of the field leading the majority of the race, but a late-race caution meant a nail biting finish with the Falken Porsche.
Enjoy!!
