I wouldn't even bother taking a test drive in the 8er if I had a choice of these two.
Yeah why?

A pig vs a world-class ballerina, although I do like the 8er.
Also, depreciation is a tale of two cities.

Noooo... A 992 in the metal is still a wondrous thing to behold. I'd much rather look at that than the still very lovely 8 Series coupé.Agreeing with all the points raised, but the Porsche has become ugly and can't hold a candle to the sexy lines of the 8.

Yeah mate, with you on this. 991 is prettier than 992 I feel. But then I have an absolute lust-affair with 991. 992 benefits considerably from ticking the SportsDesign package option - especially at the front. The 2 main issues for me are the Cayenne and Macan rear lights and the acres of cheap looking black plastic on the bumpers.
I still prefer the previous generation.
Owning a 911 is a box that I REALLY want to tick one day.
Some advice from an old dude:
Don't wait too long. I came soooo close to ticking that box on several occasions from the mid-1980s' up until the first few years of the new millenium. But somehow, I permitted "reason" to override "passion" and convinced myself that there were more prudent choices in which I would invest my hard-earned cash. Tragic.
And lo...
Nothing wrong with that mate. Sometimes in life, life happens.
When one makes no plans, everything runs according to the planYep-life is what happens when one has made other plans.
