Re: A Look at Mercedes-Benz USA, by the numbers.

Actually, Moderator can you change the title of this thread to "A Look at Mercedes by the numbers In Your Country"? I'd like to see what Mercedes sales have been like for the last few years (or for as long as you have data) from where our other members are.

Mercedes-Benz kicks off 2007 with strong sales

Melbourne - “I am extremely pleased with the category killing sales of A and B-Class for the first two months of 2007. Our strategy of offering buyers a real choice of powertrains, passenger/luggage carrying combinations and models has delivered segment leadership”, said Mercedes Car Group managing director, Horst von Sanden today.

In the VFACTS Small<$40K segment the A-Class and B-Class have captured one third of sales (33.1%) in this ultra competitive segment.

Despite some stock shortages of W203 C-Class sedans in the run up to the launch of the all new W204 C-Class in the third quarter Mercedes-Benz has had a very successful opening to the year.

The limited Super Sports edition of the current C-Class has contributed to C-Class sales increasing 50 per cent on the same period last year.

“We are extremely pleased with the sales of C-Class and the all new C-Class when launched in the third quarter will offer more equipment, safety, luxury and value. We have negotiated a very aggressive price and specification package that will make the all new C-Class the intuitive and dynamic choice in the segment. In Europe prior to public release we hold in excess of 40,000 confirmed orders”, said von Sanden.

The new generation E-Class built on strong January sales that were up 12 per cent year on year with a further lift with February sales up 15 percent year on year. In the VFACTS Large>$70K segment the E-Class holds a commanding one third share. Additionally in this segment the E-Class, CLS-Class and R-Class combined account for almost one out of every two vehicles (44.2%) sold.

The S-Class has cemented its position as the unchallenged leader in the UPPER LARGE >$100K segment with more than forty per cent of sales. Despite strong competition from AUDI, BMW, Jaguar and Lexus the S-Class has again outsold their combined efforts.

“The arrival of the all new CL-Class and C-Class will again demonstrate the technological leadership of Mercedes-Benz and early enquiries for these vehicles are extremely strong”, he said.
