Seems like Apple is moving ahead with building its own electric car “Project Titan”, after it had wound down previous efforts with Magna back in 2016, some recent developments:

Apple has also been testing its autonomous driving tech on public roads for a number of years now, as stated by California's DMV and has made acquisitions relating to the tech.
