Huge negative surprise. I was expecting something way closer to the Concept.

Reagarding the front lights, it's the same as with the Q8, Q6, Macan, 7er and XM.

Livestream presentation of the A6 etron Avant Concept coming tomorrow:

Okay this is a way better design than the sedan.

Poor placement of fog lights, now I see 99% that those are fog lights and not DRL.

Sh*it...

Concept of Avant looks incredible, but we know how it will end up based on the sedcoupe.

The proportions of this section just scream economy car.

Appears that this could be a weak point.

Offering a benefit of the doubt, distortion due to swirly-foil and motion of the car may paint a deceiving picture. With the camo peeled off and in full press package studio shooting guise, it is quite possible that the car will actually look far better. Then again, maybe that's just my wishful thinking. I remain a bit disappointed. A little less now, however, with these most recent spy shots and the images of the IMHO beautiful Avant Concept version.

...and on a side note:

It appears that the flush doorhandles of the VW ID cars and the BMW iX had a fling that produced an offspring. I like that. I don't like those old school, conventional door handles on current Audis, especially on the electric ones.

Stunning cars the Avant and Sportback. If Audi brings this into production like this, it will be the nail in the coffin for BMW and Mercedes electric vehicles. Audi will have the best looking EV Range of all German cars.

The A6 Avant etron Concept is now leaving me a bit more optimistic with regard to the upcoming production versions (both Avant and Sportback).

It is indeed stunning.

"95 %".

Don't f*** up the remaining 5%, Herr Lichte.

Still, you've pretty much blown your collegue Gorden Wagener and his team out of the water.

Gut gemacht, liebe Audianer*innen :D **

Yes, to bad for the split headlights isn't in Rolf? Ruins the whole car.

The 3/4 rear view of the Sportback prototype reveals what may very well be a "chunky, square featured" automobile that is, unfortunately, less graceful, less coherently designed than the concept car.

Well, Audi seems to have gotten it "a bit more right".

An interesting tidbit: Audi spokespersons are now saying that the A6 eTron concepts, both the Avant as well as Sportback, are a "98 %" rather than "95 %" reflection of the actual serial production cars. Sooo...that could indicate that little other than doorhandles (recent mule footage indicating flush ones resembling a combination of those featured on the BMW iX and VW ID4/5) and more conventional rearview mirrors will be altered. That'd be...

I think the wagon will correct most of the issues of the sportback but the FWD proportions are here to stay.

Nice concept, ugly production version.

I'm not yet quite prepared to categorically dismiss the production version as inevitably "ugly".

Swirly-foil camo, plastocladding, taped-on cables and distorted motion footage can really be deceiving on occasion. I clearly recall finding the first camo'd series I Audi A7 Sportback production-bodied mules ungainly and hence very disappointing. The preceding 2009 NAIAS Sportback Concept was painfully gorgeous. leaving many "spoiled". But then, when the production series I Audi A7 Sportback was presented in late 2010 (and having the opportunity to check it out at dealerships), I was pretty much "sold" on the car. It was an automobile that also won a number of automotive design awards as well. To date, one of the most beautiful Audis ever IMHO, especially in S7 and RS7 guise.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
