Launching in October
The Kia K4 has been spotted in production guise without any camouflage ahead of an official October launch.

It was previewed in April at the Beijing Motor Show by a namesake concept from which it has carried most of the design but with smaller wheels and restyled fog lights while the door handles are now body-colored as opposed to the concept's chromed handles.

Slotting between the K3/Cerato and K5/Optima, the K4 uses the same platform as the Hyundai Mistra and is 4.72 meters long with a 2.7-meter wheelbase. The China-only mid-size sedan will likely carry over the concept's 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter GDI mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox. It could also get a naturally-aspirated 1.8-liter with 146 bhp (109 kW) and 175 Nm (129 lb-ft) along with a 2.0-liter motor developing 162 bhp (121 kW) and 194 Nm (143 lb-ft) working with a 6-speed manual.

The Kia K4 will feature an electronic stability program along with six airbags, rear view camera and the company's UVO infotainment system. Other goodies include a push button engine start system and a Supervision instrument cluster for a model believed to kick off at 140,000 yuan (22,500 USD) and go all the way up to 180,000 yuan (29,000 USD).
