Lamborghini Aventador SVJ v Ferrari 812 v Porsche 911 Turbo S: DRAG RACE

The new 911 Turbo S is fantastic value for money when you look at how it compared to the Lambo and Ferrari in performance and braking. I wouldn't be surprised if it beats both cars on a track as well. On sound and emotion though both 812 and SJV are better than the Turbo

Faster than 6:44.97 at the 'ring? I don't think it will. What makes the SVJ time so impressive is that it was set on Trofeo R's, not the one lap special Cup 2 R.

That was a modified SVJ for sure.
Aventadors underperform in every test. Real weight is nearly 1900Kg...

In Hockenheim GP, Sport Auto test:
GT2 RS MR (Cup 2 R): 1:43.50
SVJ (Trofeo R): 1:47.30
992 Turbo S (shitty P Zeros): 1:47.80

Where is the SVJ sport auto Nordschleife laptime?

Sport Auto and Porsche...

Quoting Nürburgring times set by a manufacturer is like quoting claimed weight it's never accurate . Nürburgring times set by manufacturers mean nothing because they are never reproduced and if anything most of those cars are slower on most other tracks. Times set by SA and AB are probably the most realistic.

There's no such thing, they are biased as well. If they weren't, they'd never allow Porsche to send cars with roll cages and racing buckets to be tested. That just isn't a stock car.

Most publications will favour one brand at the expense of another based on the amount of advertising revenue they generate.

Turbo S is simply the new 1/4 mile king.
SVJ is damn fast considering it hasn't dipped into 10.4s before this race. With a better driver it can run with that Turbo S easily. The 812SF is better suited for highway pulls it seems.

Points of note: No SVJ weighs 1900 kg, not even 1800 kg. It is in the mid to high 1700 kg range with everything.
Also, why quote GT2 RS MR lap times when it is as relevant as the Lanzante P1 GTR in terms of comparing laptimes of ACTUAL production cars?

Do you think drivers want to be at risk while doing a 7 min lap? Roll cage + bucket seats + Hans just in case anything goes wrong.

Right.
I can't find GT2 RS laptimes. Even if it is, lets say 2 secs slower, still quicker than SVJ.

They don't seem to mind testing equally fast cars without any of the above.

The manufacturer's lap times give you a indication of a true (if it's not pre-production) performance of certain model. It's good to see when they extract the most out of it

Sport Auto and Porsche...

Do you hint at some kind of cheating? I wouldn't go that far! Yes, sport auto is testing a lot of Porsches. Almost any 911 and 718 variant ... mark1 and mark2 versions of each generation. This might show some bias for Porsche? Maybe, it is because their readers are especially interessted in P-cars? Just have a look at sport autos Nordschleife perfection training courses! 70% of attendees show up there with Porsche models.

And yes: I think Gebhardt is very experienced in driving Porsches fast. He has lots of real motorsport kilometers under his belt with Porsche (911 GT3 and Cayman GT4 in VLN). This could be an advantage for Porsche.

But:
Good preparation of supertest cars is allowed for every manufacturer! They all do it in one or the other form.
Adding a role cage and hans system to the car doesn't make it faster per se. BUT it gives the driver more confidence and allows CG to really go in another 1-2% more, which could translate in better laptime. Moreover as I heared, that the overall weight of the car did not get increased due to countermeasures taken! If this is really the case, this would be far from a fair comparison with a series car: Stiffer car, with better seats and more safety with same weight!

Once you start granting indulgences to certain manufacturers it contaminates the entire process in my humble opinion.
