Las Vegas Air Show.

Very nice stuff there Gullwing. Looks like worth the sunburns :D

BTW, wasn't there a B2? That would be nice to see!

:t-cheers:

aaaaah,
This reminds me of those old times when I was young
stay home from school just playing AceCombat all day long

Thanks for sharing Gullwing
:)

Thanks for the pictures! Ive been to a couple of air shows but they had the more modern fighter jets like the Eurofighter, Harrier and Tornadoes :usa7uh:

Love that "dressed to kill":D

Great photos!! Thanks for sharing! Was two times at the ILA in Berlin!! Great show…and there in Las Vegas many interesting planes!

No B2, they only bring it out for the big air shows, if they bring it out.
This year was the first year without the F117 because it is no longer in service.
Yes I had sunburn on my nose, forehead, neck, and the top of my head.

Modern fighters... Eurofighter, Harrier and Tornadoes... What?
Can't get anymore modern then the F35, and the F22 is still brand new it just joined the fleet in small numbers.
The Harrier is over 30 years old. The Tornado has been out for a while.

Did you notice the plane in the air on the right side?!

Thunderbird. There are a few pics with them in the background.

Cool pictures.

No Mig's? :D j/k

Hmmm ya I guess I didn't take any pics of the Mig 17s

Don't care about the communist crap:D

There are several different Migs on display around the base.
I think it is a Mig 25 that is at a Y in the road, if you go straight you will hit the plane and the nose probe will skewer you.

THe F35 is the joint strike fighter. There will be three versions of it. Navy will get larger wings for carrier use, the Air Force get the normal version, and the Marines will get the STOVL short take off vertical land just like the Harrier. :usa7uh:
Both the F22 and F35 are built by Lockheed

Flippin' AWESOME aircraft there!

Since I'll be migrating to California next year, I'll be real interested in going to this airshow! Is it an annual event? and if so, is it always around November ? :)

Great work with the photos Gullwing. B52, C17, C5, KC's, F22, F35, B1...oh my.. military heaven!! :D

So you are very deep into military aviation Gullwing! Do you work for the US Air Force?

I have two friends that are into the Greek Air Force and they both love their jobs...

For the past few years this air show has been every year, but I think it is going back to every other year. California has much bigger airshows in San Fransico and San Diego. Those shows also get the Blue Angles, while we only get the Thunderbirds.

My dad spent 30 years in the Navy and has worked for the Navy as a civilian, for the past five years he worked out here for the Air Force as a civilian. I do not work for the Air Force.

It is always nice to go to the show, esp since we can get on base. That way we don't have to wait in line with everyone else to get bused on and off. That can take two hours.

Seem like you enjoyed the show. I'm an incloset aviation junkie so I would have loved to get up close with aircrafts like you did.

My dad worked with one of the top B1 back seaters. A year and a half or so ago we got a tour of a B1. Got to climb around the cockpit and sit in every seat. "Just don't touch anything yellow, you might leave the plane very fast".

I really want to go to an airshow with the Blue Angels, they are so much better then the Thunderbirds. Only time I have seen them was back in 1991! Thunderbirds are good, but kind of boring year after year, they don't have the dificulty rating of the Blues.

You should go to the Paris show sometime.

Shows how much I know about aircraft:D

I used to be obsessed with aircraft at one point, but then got bored of them.

Edit the Eurofighter is basically new, only been out about five years. Seriously impressive plane:bowdown:
