Cornering Kingpin

Lexus CT 200h
2011 Lexus CT 200h: This new hybrid hatchback will join the Lexus lineup in early 2011. It will use a drivetrain that combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors similar to the Toyota Prius. The smallest car in the Lexus lineup, the CT200h will be positioned as its entry-level model with a starting price tag of around $31,000.

Lexus ES
2012 Lexus ES 350: After a minor makeover in 2010, the Lexus ES 350 is expected to get a full redesign in 2011.

Lexus GS
2013 Lexus GS: A full redesign of the midsize Lexus sedan is expected by 2012. Most of the rumors have revolved around the possibility of a high-performance GS-F version with a detuned version of the V10 engine used in the Lexus LFA. Initial prototypes show only minor styling changes and a slightly wider rear track.

Lexus GX
2013 Lexus GX: After a full redesign for the 2010 model year, expect to see a round of minor improvements on the 2013 Lexus GX.

Lexus IS
2013 Lexus IS: After a minor refresh in 2010, the Lexus IS is expected to get a full redesign for the 2013 model year. Expect to see a similar lineup of models — sedan, convertible, high-performance IS-F — in addition to a rear-wheel-drive chassis and a V6 engine. Hybrid power could be a new twist to the equation as Lexus looks to expand the availability of hybrid power throughout its lineup.

Lexus LFA
2011 Lexus LFA: This ultra high-performance sports car will arrive in the U.S. later this year. Powered by a 552-horsepower V10, the LFA is the most powerful car the company has ever produced. Only 500 will be sold worldwide. A limited 50-unit run of "Nurburgring Edition" LFAs will be part of the total.

Lexus LS
2013 Lexus LS: Lexus just gave the LS flagship a minor refresh in 2010, so don't expect any significant changes until the 2013 model year.

Lexus LX
2014 Lexus LX: After a redesign in 2008, the big LX could see some minor upgrades in 2011. Other than that, don't look for any significant upgrades until the 2014 model year.

Lexus RX
2013 Lexus RX: All-new for 2010, the Lexus RX isn't likely to see any significant upgrades until the 2013 model year.

Lexus SC
2014 Lexus SC: An all-new Lexus SC coupe is in the works, but plans have been pushed back several times. The delays may force Lexus to stop selling the current SC for a couple years before the new model is ready. Some speculation suggests that Lexus will drop the SC altogether now that the LFA is the company's official flagship coupe.

Nice info! I'm now a proud owner of a Lexus & I must admit, my 9 year old Es still feels better & more comfortable than my brand new Maxima! :usa7uh:

the question is will the GS finally become a true contender for the E, 5er, and A6. Infiniti's M seems to be the real deal. Lexus really need to step up with the GS as well as the IS. I doubt, though, we'll see the the LFA's V10, it's too high-revving of an engine to fit a mid-size car. Plus, as much as I love that engine, it's probably a more delicate piece of machinery that requires alot of care compared to the mills its competitors make. But there's no denying it would make the GS-F that much more special.

I agree. A slightly enlarged, less rev/more torque version of the LF-A V10 would make a GS-F something special indeed.

I grew up a fan of the Lexus SC430 when I was growing up, it just seemed so sporty and fun. Working with Lexus magazine gives me the opportunity to find out all about the fun new ideas they are coming out with.

For all of those Lexus owners drooling over the new 'futuristic' models, check out this blog post about one rider's first hand experience and pictures

The thing about Lexus is that they make and introduce some technologically advanced cars, but then stop until the next design is released. For example, when the current GS was released it was so nice and advanced. I remember their introduction video about it back then and it was like a space shuttle. So advanced. Then, as the years passed, it remained the same. Not too many changes, both in the exterior and interior.

I am a GERMAN car fan, that said Lexus needs to come up with exiting and 'fresh' designs. The current lineup is bland - same as with Toyota:eusa_doh:

The "word on the street" is the new GS will be more aggressive than the new E yet more elegant than the 5 series.

Yes because Lexus have just been releasing one fabulous design after another! :t-crazy2:

The brand had signs of greatness yet has been reduced to more of a joke lately. The Germans have been running rings around them in terms of products, technology, design etc. It's saving grace remains price.

And not to mention Mercedes has gained their reputation back in the quality arena too, and Lexus' has faltered.

This is very true and I commend MB for doing this. I remember when JD Power and Associates wouldn't even get close to them. Now they are amazing in every respect.

Holy ugly.

No doubt Lexus is going to try and go EXTREMELY aggressive this time around. Very easy to determine that, and I don't even need renders. They're probably tired of everybody calling them a boring appliance, and they want to send a message. Also, "aggressive" is the new trend, and Lexus are very known to follow trends in a very late fashion, and incorporate them to the nth degree. In doing so, they will retire the elements that made them Sales leaders to begin with, and will alienate some of their demographic.
