Lexus accidentally tweets a picture of the LF-SA concept
Set to debut in Geneva

Lexus recently announced plans to introduce an all-new concept at the Geneva Motor Show and it appears the company has accidently posted a teaser image of the car ahead of schedule.

Details are limited but Lexus Europe reportedly posted this picture on Twitter earlier today and referred to it as the LF-SA concept. The image was quickly removed but not before someone managed to get a screenshot.

Thanks to their quick work, we can see the concept will have an aggressive front fascia with LED headlights and a prominent spindle grille. The model also has a distinctive hood and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights.

Lexus has been relatively tight-lipped about the concept but previous reports have suggested it will preview an entry-level model that slots below the CT 200h. The production model is expected to arrive in 2018 and be based on the Toyota Yaris.

The headlights and grill of the Lexus models seem to be getting more and more gross, that grill looks like some huge fish with its mouth open to gulp down smaller fry!

Is this really Yaris-based Lexus model? To me it looks more like Verso-based car. Is Lexus entering a mini-van market? Following MB, BMW (and soon Audi)? I won't not be surprised.

we want a LFA successor, not this, it's the right time to make one too as more people are appreciating the LFA than when it was launched

btw @rs271 this shouldn't be posted in the "LFA/F-preformance" as the LF stands for "lexus future" in the same way as the FT in FT-1 stands for "future toyota"

So there are different possibilities: to post it in the "Lounge", create a new forum "LF-SA" or change this forum into a general "LF"-forum.
I would prefer the last possibility.

true, however the LF in LFA stands for "Lexus Fuji Apex" and the F on all F-models stands for fuji, so i would prefer the first possibility

They do not need to be making one right now. Let them focus on the LC, LS and primary upper end range. Even if they are in the initial stages, it will be kept mum and not disclosed until far along enough. The LF-A wasn't even announced until late 2004, when original design was frozen in November 2004 for a planned late 2006 launch.

The LF-A project started in February 2000, yet they refused to hint to it until (2004) 2 years ahead of originally scheduled late 2006 launch and a few months before the first design study showing in January 2005. It's not to say it will take this long, but Toyota rarely announces such plans so early. Development is very closed off, as well as testing for that matter.

I wondered what had happened to you. I am more than glad to see you posting here again. Peace.

I just went away for a while. I figured, I was posting and arguing a little too much (got carried away a few times in the Paul Walker thread) so it was time for a break (well, over a year ago). Had a lot of life changing things going on such as, my daughter was born six months ago so have been very busy chasing her crawling all over the place.:)

Well congrats on the arrival of your little one and welcome back Dad. :)

Lexus LF-SA concept leaks out early
Debuts in Geneva
The first pictures of the Lexus LF-SA concept have leaked to the web, ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Looking small and aggressive, the LF-SA concept is a three-door hatchback with a prominent spindle grille that is flanked by slender LED headlights. The car also has muscular fenders, distinctive wheels and a unique tailgate with an integrated rear spoiler.

The angular styling continues in the cabin as there's a uniquely shaped dashboard and center console. We can also see a metallic accents and what appears to be a heads-up display.

There's no word on performance specifications but the concept reportedly previews a new entry-level model that will slot beneath the CT 200h. While nothing is official, the production variant could be based on the Yaris and go on sale in 2018.
