W1 [Hot!] Mclaren W1

The McLaren W1 is a limited-production hybrid sports car developed by McLaren Automotive. It is the successor to the McLaren P1. It was unveiled on October 6, 2024.
Pretty standard numbers in today's supercar space. I hope there is something unique to the car beyond its exclusivity.
I disagree. I doubt any manufacturer is capable of making a car this light with such a huge amount of power. The lightest I can think of is AM's Valkyrie which is unusable on the road whilst this car very likely will be (obivously not as much as something like a 720S), and doesn't possess a hybrid system anywhere near as complex as the W1. 1.16kg/hp for the technology the W1 possesses is no small feat. I forgot to mention the Valkyrie uses a single clutch transmission to shave even more weight, McLaren doesn't do that. I can't think of any non EV apart from the Tourbillon making these specs look standard, most manufacurers are having similar levels of power with 1600kg+ dry weights (a.k.a SF90, Revuelto, AMG ONE,and Tourbillon again.) so the W1 is in a pretty safe spot right now. The only potential threat is its direct competitor : The F250.

New Rumor McLaren W1 SPECS

399 UNITS ONLY
Engine: 4.0L V8 Hybrid
Output: 1270hp, 1300nm
0-300kmh: 11s
0-200kmh: 5.8s
Downforce: 1000kg
1000kg of downforce at I assume 250kmh......... totally insane. Just for a quick comparison this makes 1000kg at 250km/h. We have yet to confirm if these rumours are true though, as the power output seems to keep changing. Nonetheless this is totally wild performance if true.

What is that orange swoosh on the side? Just a reflection? Or could it be an homage to SCG 004? 😁

If the rumored combined power output is true, surely this confirms it's at least dual motor hybrid setup, right? I can't imagine a single <400 hp MGU-K being a thing.

And I hope they developed bespoke Trofeo RS with extra high load for this puppy. I've read enough excuses about underperforming MC OE spec Trofeo R over the years. It's about time Pirelli challenged the Cup 2 R hegemony in this segment.

Capable or not a priority?

I don't think any of these cars (with the exception of the F250) are really competitors to the W1. Tourbillion is more GT than sports car. The SF90 and Revuelto are volume production cars. The Valkyrie is a track car with a license plate. The AMG One is just Mercedes trying to shoehorn their F1 engine into a road car with questionable success.

The only thing that these cars truly have in common is that they are road legal. The rest is up to the discretion of the manufacture.
