Company wins three of the five awards
Mercedes has dominated the World Car of the Year awards as the automaker has claimed three of the five honors.

First and foremost, the Mercedes C-Classwas named the 2015 World Car of the Year. It beat out the Ford Mustang and Volkswagen Passat to take the top honor.

Mercedes also won awards for World Luxury Car of the Year and World Performance Car of Year for the S-Class Coupe and Mercedes-AMG GT, respectively.

The German automaker was also in the running for the World Green Car of the Year but the S500 Plug-In Hybrid lost out to the BMW i8.

Last but not least, the Citroen C4 Cactus won the award for World Car Design of the Year as experts praised its innovative design and called it a "proper breath of fresh air.”

Domination in terms of making the magazines who created this prize choose them.

It's nice for MB, but of course completely meaningless.

If so then you have to say that all manufactures who are winner are doing it, not only MB. Being a head of a publication we have announced our awards without being biased to any manufactures. And I believe most of the magazine are genuine in their judgement with in their parameters.

I'm sorry to disagree, but magazines suck. This year's European car of the year had some cars nominated even before they were tested or even presented/released, as the Vw Passat, Skoda Fabia and Fiat 500x. How is that even possible? For me, it speaks volumes about the influence manufacturers have over the press and the money behind them.
And that was in the Ecoty, which is a more much traditional and prestigious award, and not some random award introduced about 10 years ago, and where VAG has been winning everything, every year, up to this year's one.

You can't generalise all publication. I too don't have any opinion on judging any automobile on the awards it has won, each awards are announced based on different criteria, if all awards is based on the best automobile ans value according to its segment, then I would say S-Class should have been the World or International or European 'Car of the Year' on the year of its launch. Anyhow the award winners are chosen according to the criteria set by the jury.
