My little fleet

Hello guys,

I have been around for a while (since 2006 apparently) and I like it here as a great resource for automotive information.

Off course, I´m a car guy from childhood, there are stories that I recognised cars from a buggy and I learned to read through automotive magazines.

Later I studied mechanical engineering because of my passion and currently cars are what I do for living (financial services though). I worked for Daimler for a few years as well.

I thought it would be nice to present cars I currently have. My very first own car was 2006 Focus ST with a five cylinder (I loved that sound) and the second one was 2001 Impreza WRX (bugeye). I no longer have these but I upgraded to current ones as follows:

2008 BMW M3 (E92) - manual, Evolve Stage 2 with test pipes, Supersprint Race exhaust, Eventuri full carbon intake incl. plenum, estimated power 460hp/460Nm
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII - Ohlins Road and Track suspension, Milltek Exhaust, 4turbo tune (380hp/530Nm dynoed)
2000 Subaru Impreza GT - stock with Prodrive exhaust

Every car has its reason. M3 is an allrounder, you can use it for travelling, city driving, some gentle tracking (been to Nordschleife twice), the sound with testpipes, supersprint and full carbon intake is just porn, best sound ever for me and yes, I have driven GT3, Huracan Performante and others (my colleague does business with this sort of cars)... Evo is a toy, nothing gets close regarding handling on snow even from new cars and on that suspension and with stage 2 it is a missile on B-roads.. and Impreza GT, classic car for me, I don´t like driving it that much, but I like the old style rally looks.

A few pics from last weekends shooting now, more will follow if you like, or you can take a look at my IG account : "powerslidehater" (sort of private, for friends mostly).

If anybody is considering any of these cars, I am willing to response to any questions.

Best regards guys.

@emve - yes, I remember you from way back. You've made many great and informative posts.

Lovely collection of cars, totally classic. I love each one of them. Great colour selection too - really in keeping with the brands.

I loved driving the manual E92 M3 and I almost bought one, before getting my 981, which was in mint condition with 35K kilometres on the odo. Some other plonker had a long-standing deposit on it and wouldn't relinquish. Magic car to drive.

I instructed for Subaru for 12 years and drove pretty much every model they imported down here. We're on Forester number 6 now.

I noticed your CZ plates. My late father was Czech. He came to SA in 68. All the best to you and enjoy your lovely cars.

What a fleet! I remember the Subaru and Mitsubishi from racing games that I played 5-15 years ago.

Do you have a flyby video of the Lancer? I am curious about the sound of the miltek exhaust.

Are you perfectly satisfied with all three or are anymore modifications pending?

Yes, Impreza and Evo are cars from my childhood.

I don´t have any video worth posting, I am not keen on that kind of stuff. I consider Evo sound quite dull from outside, just loud noise - similar to this :

M3 on the other hand, is a musical instrument. Masterpiece.

Regarding satisfaction. I wasn´t satisfied with stock M3. Not much sound from engine and exhaust and insufficient power in mid-range and flexibility. Solved with testpipes+tune, supersprint race and carbon intake. I was quite satisfied with Evo as I bought it (with Ohlins coilovers already), just retuned the ECU for better pickup from low revs. Impreza, as I have said, has got the looks for me... but in stock form, it is not interesting for driving while owning a tuned M3 and Evo... Tuning it would still not put it close to them anyway.

Actually I am currently thinking about selling the Impreza and buying EVO 5 instead.

I prefer the Evo 5/6 to the 7 by a mile.

Something about Gran Turismo on the Playstation and Taxi 2, the film, versus the sh** car line up from 2 Fast 2 Furious.

.. but that's just my two cents .. cool fleet either way (y)

Cool collection @emve (y) good platforms to enjoy some track time on the weekends.

I am on the same page :) the 90's Lancer generations were among my most favourite models from Mitsubishi and Japan in general.

In addition to GT, this was among the reasons that I liked the Evo, even though I'm not a dedicated follower of the sport:

the Lancer was very popular where I lived when I was young, which is why I always consider myself a Mitsubishi fan (y)

Takes me way back with some of these... enjoy in good health bro!! This was clearly the dream 3 for me growing up. The only one missing is a 911 from that period..
