Chevrolet unveils their Active Phone Cooling system
Chevrolet Active Phone Cooling system
Chevrolet has introduced their new Active Phone Cooling system that will be available in the 2016 Cruze, Impala, Malibu and Volt.
Designed to prevent smartphones from overheating while they're being wireless charged, the system uses an air vent to send cold air into the charging bin where the phone rests while it's being recharged.
This isn't exactly a ground breaking invention but Chevrolet says smartphone overheating is an issue that engineers have encountered during testing in extreme climates. In these conditions, the smartphone would "suspend charging or shut off altogether after only a few minutes in high temperatures inside a car’s cabin."
