Outback Next Gen Subaru Outback 2026

The Subaru Outback is an automotive nameplate used by Subaru for two different themed vehicles: a Legacy-derived station wagon, the Outback (1994–present, also sold as Legacy Outback in some markets), and an Impreza-derived off-road themed hatchback, the Outback Sport (1994–2011). Most versions of the Outback wagon and Outback Sport have had all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

I think that Subaru made a big mistake.
The new Outback will be an usual SUV and not a station wagon anymore.
They will brake the tradition after so many years, generations and very good selling numbers...
I also think it will look horrible - like the new Forester, total false proportions, to small wheels etc.

door panels, middle console, steering wheel will obviously stay the same
what i'm happy: the physical buttons are back!

i still think that the actual Outback is one of the best buy of all today's cars
its the absolute best allrounder you can get, you can have it for business, for family, dog, sport, camping, off-road, snow...

unique off-road capabilities, enough comfort and luxury, all the latest technology and assistants, still classic atmospheric engines, surprisingly dynamic driving (especially the 260 horsepower version), one of the most reliable brands, very reasonably priced
i know a few people - they have Outbacks with over 1 mio km (!) and no troubles at all
Something which an owner of a new Audi,Bmw,MB,Volvo can only dream of...

It doesn't look bad, I think Suburu want to bring some excitement to it's design by doing something slightly different. It's still got that Outback stance and high riding 4wd wagon appearance which will appeal to current owners.

The interior has been majorly updated but those black trim pieces surrounding the door handles look very similar to those in Mercedes models.

Exterior is hideous, quite frankly. Interior seems nicely trimmed but the layout and UI is already dated.
A car for snow-belt USA and nowhere else.
