4 Series [Official] BMW i4 (G26)

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.
He has praised the iX for its realistic range compared to the Teslas. And not only that, he critisizes the BMW because it's not a proper M car like BMW is badging.

So, honestly, not sure who do you want to trick with your usual discourse.

No idea what you're on about - thread/review is about the i4 and not the iX. Harry is arguably the most seasoned auto reviewer and says i4 is disappointing.

The narrative on this forum from has always been "Electric cars are easy, competition is coming, wait till the Germans start building them" and quite frankly all I'm seeing is mediocrity at best.

Nope. He critisizes the i4 M50 wears the M badge while at the same time being so heavy.

The negative points you are talking about are not the cause of his negative veredict.

Deliveries are still ramping in the U.S. There's a glut of them being delivered now through summer. Demand doesn't seem to be sky high compared to capacity though as the forums are saying you can get one by fall if you place an order today. Not too different than the ICE models in their lineup.

I was just at my local BMW dealer booking in my M3 for its running-in service, and I stopped by and had a chat with the sales guy I usually buy from. He asked me if I'd driven the i4 yet, and I said "no", at which point he threw me the keys to an i4 M50 in Tanzanite Blue. After a 40 minute blast around the local area, I have these points to make...

1) Utterly bonkers performance.
2) Feels much lighter than it is.
3) iDrive 8 is a complete dog's breakfast. It's worse than I ever thought it was. Until now I'd only played with it in stationary cars in the showrooms, but actually using it on a functioning cars just allowed me to see more areas where it is just simply a mess. It's so bad that I would avoid buying another BMW until they improve it (if they do).

Mercedes EQE vs BMW i4 twin test (2022) review

However, it seems as the BMW might have the upper hand when it comes to tuning EVs. Not only was the BMW i4 the quicker and more engaging car to drive, it was also somehow lighter and more efficient. I’m not sure how but the Mercedes is over 500 lbs heavier than the i4, despite having the same electric motor count, a barely-bigger battery, and a bespoke EV architecture. That weight ruin its efficiency and its fun. Admittedly, it’s far more comfortable and calm on even Britain’s bumpy roads, so it’s likely the better commuter car. But the i4 seems to be the better car overall. Shocking, actually. (commentary by bmwblog)

Somehow the mix of wood and technology looks interesting, maybe more than the hyperscreen

The EQE has larger batteries and CLS-like dimensions. There is no more natural result than being heavier than i4. I have not seen bmw write a better car in comparison.

I’ve test driven both the i4 and the EQE and would say that in my opinion the i4 is sportier whereas the EQE is more comfortable, more luxurious and generally more expensive feeling. The EQE did have the air suspension and the most expensive nappa leather, so that could explain some of it.

Comparing the EQE and the i4 is nonsense. The fanboy has found a few sentences that satisfy him, but the facts are not. EQE is a different level.

er, and price, £12-20k.

£76k for a base EQE. Mercedes has lost its mind, or the beancounters have been given total rein.

And to make it a fair comparison, you’d really have to take the EQE43 4Matic vs i4 m50 to get similar performance and AWD. And then you are looking at a price difference of around €40k. These two cars are not competitors.

Yes they are, and Mercedes completely pricing its car completely out of the market is not BMW's problem at all.

Now, why we are even talking about MB models in the i4 thread is beyond me...... Make a thread in Internal Combustion next time instead of polluting this one @dalab.
Now the MB trolls are here too.
