Its not that I dislike the car, but it so needs the right colour and this is not it.

I really think Audi are struggling to find decent wheel design right now. Not a fan of the TT-RS wheels either. Nor the RS3.

Perhaps its just an RS thing as I do find some of the regular series wheels appealing.

Good heavens - that new RS5 is a looker! Mags are gross - it's been observed already - but the rest of it, inside and out, is bloody marvelous. Shite!
I love that slightly nose-down stance, haunches and waistline. An under-appreciated work of art in my peasant-level appreciation of design opinion.

I agree, and makes one wonder why it gets such a hard time here. I guess I too am easily impressed.

Nah - bollocks. I'm of the view of how or why could one not be impressed when in fact it actually is just that - an impressive machine.
You've either got to be pretty jaded or just plain anti not to find more that just redeeming qualities in this design.

Maybe I'm OCD, but this is unacceptable in a premium car. No matter how many carmakers do this exhaust intergraion I'll never like it . It's really cheap looking.

Great looking car nonetheless especially in that colour.

I wholeheartedly dislike the exterior unless I'm looking at the rear dead on. This car doesn't have one iota of the "gotta have it" factor for me. Glad it's resonating with others though.

Right you are then. Just plain anti camp for you then. Next...
[This is too easy.]

That color does it for me. I can't wait to see the eventual RS5 Cabrio and the RS5 Sportback. That color combo this is the one for me!

I would consider myself "anti" if I disliked Audi's in general. I actually wanted to like this car and do enjoy the interior it shares with the A4. I'm in the "this is a design disappointment" camp, especially as a follow up to the fantastic looking last gen.

I'm wondering if the cabrio may somehow change my opinion though.

Pay no attention to me. I'm just poking fun. :p
I see your perspective. Interestingly I was completely underwhelmed by Walter Da Silva's opus that was the original RS5. People <-> Tastes...

I have to say that when the new A5 was unveiled I thought it was a pretty weak design, but it is growing on me. I always liked the body shape of the car, but I always thought it's face let it down badly. This is an improvement, in RS5 guise I'd even go so far as to say it looks pretty good...

.. what I can't stand (aside from the wheels) is the interior. That horizontal vent really kills it for me, it's so 80's - and not in the good way.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
