No. This will be marketed to young families. It's a conquest vehicle, which MB has really lacked because the CLA and GLA are so damn small. While built on the same platform, it is a stretched platform and will have generous room and cargo and more conventional looks. MB will always have a hard time breaking into the entry market because brands like VW have such a simple trim level and vast inventory selection and extra strong factory support. The CLA and GLA have been poorly supported by the manufacture.
the GLB definitely fills a large gap MB has in the SUV market.

A longer version isn't required for 7 seat. The Discovery Sport is 4.5m and Kodiaq 4.7m and both have a third row that good enough for occasional use by children.

I dont think Mercedes should put the A160/180 petrol engine and keep away that 180d from the GLB, even so on the 7 seater
Probably GLB 200/GLB 200D will be the starting engines from the a class

When I first saw a LWB VW Tiguan I was shocked how lengthening the wheelbase by a small amount can ruin a car that otherwise looks tight.

I don't get why autoexpress buys his crappy renders, the car design leaked ages in those yellow prototypes, larson and other people have released much better renders than this crap, yet autoexpress goes on buying his bs. The proportions are all wrong and out of whack on this render. AE used to have some decent renders years ago but since they moved onto this avar dude, their accuracy has gone down the shitters.
