Nailed it. It's a pity the morons in the EU are going to make in affordable.

Yes. A very recent brief "hands on encounter" with a #1 Brabus left me impressed. I really liked it in pretty much all aspects, although a BEV is currently simply unsuitable for our personal requirements. And with a list price just a hair shy of 49K Euros, independent online merchants asking around 45K Euros, the car hardly strikes me as a good value for money offering. Actually, do "good value for money offerings" even exist nowadays ?

That is before the upcoming tariff. So it'll be 60k+ soon.

LMAO

Those morons are going to make sure millions of people keep their job in the EU.

Ahh so Daimler has a vested interest in the European market remaining free of tariffs. Now their rhetoric makes sense.

The Chinese invested heavily and hired armies of European designers and engineers to bolster what skills, experience, and technologies they lacked, and combined them with their own indigenous EV, battery, and manufacturing technologies to make cars like exciting EVs like the Smart #5.

By that token why aren't the EU heavily taxing Tesla?

The existing 10% tariffs on Teslas act to close the smaller gap between the US and EU economies, with the larger economic discrepancy between the EU and China, bigger Tariffs are required.

Tesla at least do manufacture in Europe so there is an economic input of sorts too.

They are going to tax the Chinese ones.

Daimler, BMW AG and VAG. All head deep.
And the French are doing everything in their power to make the tariffs happen, because their crappy cars aren't sold in China to begin with. So they see opportunity to do damage the German industry (and take advantage of it themselves).

BTW, the Chinese have already struck back with a ban on EU pork meat (the French and Spanish are the biggest exporters of pork). They are petty beyond belief, and will go down with a total collapse of their system if they actually dare starting a full out trade war.

Thank you mate for the insight from an industry perspective.

As an Australian that resides in a country where approximately 30% of our exports go to China, I have my own views about China flexing their economic muscle. But we are not here for that discussion. 😆

Why does this look like a blend between Citroen/ Hyundai and Kia?!? Not very original but the final product is attractive.

This deserves success. It is a very impressive EV crossover. I like the exterior styling and the interior design and the quality looks better even than the new CLA.

...and the upcoming #6 sedan promises to be quite attractive as well.

OutSMARTING M-B, so to speak.
