The very first photos of the Maybach successor, the Mercedes 600 Pullman has been shot by our spy shooters.

Designed to replace the Maybach 57 and 62, this Mercedes model will reportedly measure 6.5 meters (21.5 feet) and if it were to be named after the outgoing Maybach line, it would've been named Maybach '65'.

Back when Daimler announced that their Maybach brand was going to be cancelled, Mercedes-Benz was already in the plans to replace it with a longer wheelbase version of the upcoming all-new W222-series Mercedes S-Class. We know 3 different length versions will be offered, and this one being the longest, will become the Pullman version to offer very wealthy clients a more luxurious version.

As we can see on these spy photos, the Pullman will feature extra long b-pillars and a longer rear door. Easy to spot and to compare on the photo with both the standard S-Class and the Pullman standing in one line. This means extra space in the rear seats for their owners to enjoy traveling in sumptuous luxury.

We expect the 600 Pullman to only be offered with a twin-turbo charged V12 engine but there might even be a Hybrid version later on for more environmentally conscious multi-millionaires and presidents alike.

It will be interesting to see how MB are going to market this car to make it rival the RR Phantom. Certainly doesn't look as bespoke as the phantom.

My guess is this is the S600 XL. Makes sense. I always thought the S600 was just a rip. Only makes sense if you pick up genuine stretch.
But not a Pullman. Have to add about 18 more inches.
Anyway, proportions on the silver LWB look wonderful.

It's clearly not a Pullman ;) It's the BMW L7 type of car. If you don't know what I'm talking about go google it :)
The bmw l7 is not mass produced if i m not wrong. It is built to order. But i believe the xlwb s class(the car that is spied) will be mass produced. This is because only the three pointed star have the branding to sell such a car. No offence, i think the f01 7 has lost its soul. I want cars with soul. And for bmw sportiness used to be in their dna. So why remove it

I'm just letting people know what type of vehicle this is. You went a bit off-topic :)
But Rolls vs. Bach... yeah :D

After more than plenty of automotive journalists around the world continuously mistaken the upcomingMercedes-Benz S-Class Maybach (X222) with the future S-Class Pullman, it is now time to gorge on the latest news about the longest and arguably most stately variant of the Sonder Klasse.

Historically set to still bear the Pullman nameplate, a pre-production prototype of the 2016 model was recently spotted for the first time wearing heavy camouflage.

Oddly, the two images with the prototype saw the car sitting in a parking place that looked a bit familiar to us, and that is because the model was parked right in Brabus' headquarters, in Bottrop.

Back then, we just thought that Brabus engineers are getting a preview of things to come at Mercedes-Benz thanks to their close relationship with the Stuttgart manufacturer.

Well, according to the Germans from Automobil Woche, the main reason for the S-Class Pullman prototype being fiddled with by Brabus is the fact that the automotive craftsmen from Bottrop will be in charge of the actual production of the uber-luxury model, starting from December 2015.

While that may sound like a bombshell for most people, it is not for those who are in the know about how Brabus operates and how many manufacturing divisions are actually there.

For most people, Brabus is just Brabus, but the Bottrop company also has a division called CRD (Car Research and Development), and believe it or not, CRD doesn't have a special allegiance with Mercedes-Benz or any other car manufacturer.

CRD is technically working for any car brand that needs their help, and have so far collaborated with a ton of car makers - such as Kia, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar and obviously Mercedes-Benz – in order to mostly develop special edition models from the ground up.

If any of you remember the UK-only Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG DR 520 Edition, you might want to know that it was actually made by Brabus' CRD department, and not by AMG exclusively.

In other words, if the upcoming S-Class Pullman will be developed by Brabus, it will be nothing but yet another proof that the nutters from Bottrop are by far the most loved aftermarket company by Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes $1 million S-class Pullman may be built by Brabus

FRANKFURT -- Brabus, the high-performance aftermarket tuning company, will begin building a new version of Mercedes-Benz's ultra-luxury S-class Pullman in December 2015, Automobile News Europe sister publication Automobilwoche reported.

The 6400mm (21 feet) Pullmann will also be about 406mm (16 inches) longer than the $474,900 extended wheelbase version of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, making it the biggest series-produced passenger car.

Brabus, which is based in Bottrop, Germany, has a long history of modifying cars for Daimler's Mercedes and Smart brands.

Both Brabus and Daimler declined to comment on the report when contacted by Automotive News Europe.

Armor plating

The new Pullman will have armor plating and three rows of seats, Bloomberg reported last week, citing a person familiar with details of the brand's strategy.

The vehicle will be reminiscent of past Mercedes models owned by stars including John Lennon and Coco Chanel and the former Philippine leader Ferdinand Marcos. The four rear seats will face each other and be separated from a front chauffeur compartment by a partition window to guarantee discretion, the report said.

The Pullman will top off an expansion of Mercedes' high-margin S-class flagship, which was revamped last year, into a line of six models, double the number of variants in the past. The plan includes a sporty coupe that goes on sale later this year.

Mercedes also plans to unveil an extra-long Maybach edition of the S class in November at auto shows in Los Angeles and Guangzhou, China, Bloomberg reported. The Maybach ultra-luxury brand was discontinued by Daimler in 2103 due to poor sales.

Car Magazine reports: Brabus to revive Pullman name with extra-long S-class

01pullman composite.jpg

Aftermarket tuning company Brabus is reportedly in charge of building a new extra-long S-class named the ‘Pullman’ for Mercedes Benz.

At nearly six and a half metres long, the ultra-luxurious Pullman will be even larger than the long-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom. It’s a bit of a beast, then.

In April 2014, a brand new camouflaged S-Class Pullman was seen outside the Brabus factory and German website Automobilwoche has reported the company will be in charge of the build.

Mercedes S-class Pullman: car to the stars?
The new sedan is named after the original 600 Pullman, first produced in the 1960s, and used as a limousine by celebrities and royalty alike.

Among the fans of the old car were Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and two out of the four Beatles.

Bottrop-based Brabus, which has been tasked with the creation of the new model, has long been associated with Mercedes.

The company is famous for souping-up Daimler cars and has a portfolio stretching from racy Smart cars, to a six-wheeled G63 off-roaders, and an SL with nearly 850 horsepower. It even has two classic 600 Pullman models advertised for sale on its website.

Armour plating optional on new 2015 Pullman
Unique Pullman features in the new car will include a set of fold-away, rear-facing seats, an optional partition from the chauffer, and armour-plating.

The Pullman will also benefit from comprehensive high-tech equipment including Magic Light Control (dynamic LED lighting), Magic Sky Control (variable-tint glass moonroof), and Magic Body Control (camera-based pre-sense damping).

Even though they have not been specific about the styling or any details of Pullman, the news is interesting.

An extra long wheelbase S -Klasse is what you are getting , nothing individual or something that stands out with a new body style? just a variant of the S-Klasse.

And the S-Class interior is arguably just as special as the Bentley/Rolls standard. The extra long wheelbase will certainly feel bespoke and enormous. The S would offer a parity experience in a more discreet package.

correct me if i am wrong, i am new in this forum :
- SWB
- LWB
- XWB (Longer version of the LWB, which will be named " Maybach ")
- Pullman (which will be even longer than XWB, The 1 Million Dollar Limo)

Nope it isn't, Mercedes after all these decades making vehicles still hasn't got a clue when it comes to wood, this is where the British excel.
