The ZR1's time is exactly the same as the Z06' with manual gearbox...
The same story again? Wasn't this the case for the Z06 before? The supercharger in ZR1 had cooling issues.

In fact it was quite the opposite...the Z06 had cooling problems, but the ZR1 did not have them, even though the outside temperature was 25°C. It did have some other complications though, since the factory setup (test car was a customer car with less than 1000km on the odo) wasn't suited at all for fast track driving, resulting in heavy understeer under braking and turn-in and he only managed to do a 1:07,9 with the stock setup, but there also was a lot of dirt from the drift challenge a day before on the track.
Disappointed with the laptime, the car then returned to Geiger Cars Munich where it received the same trackoriented setup as the Z06 in the supertest. He mentions, that it now felt like a Z06 with too much power and with traction control off it was hard to control. Laptime was done with traction control on but it did not regulate that sensible.
He thinks that with some further suspension work and on perfect conditions, the car can do high 1.05s maximum.
Well, SportAuto said the ZR1 underperformed because of hot temperatures causing cooling issues, which resulted in the same lap time as the Z06 (done on a cooler day).
I don't know where your information is coming from, but I got the issue laying right in front of me, and this is not mentioned in the article. Quoting directly from the article (translated to english): "Concerning Temperatures: Even after several laps, the ZR1 did not show thermical problems. A topic which was heavily discussed in Z06-forums."
