3 Series (G50) [Spy shots] 2027 BMW 3 Series (G50)

The eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It will feature a new, minimalist design inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, and will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms.
I believe what Opel has done to its front ends looks quite similar to the NK.
Yes. They look very similar. I had an Opel Mokka as a city car for 3 years, it was a lovely thing. Design was the main reason I got it, I loved how compact and distinctive it looked. Too bad it wasn’t in that metallic green color.

Looking soooo promising.

But is the 3 series is going to get entirely separate EV and ICE models? Or will it be like the current 5 and 7?

You definitely did not pass the autumn 2025 BMW exams.

Back to school!

I'm trying to get up to speed with what BMW has coming.

Nothing planned from Mercedes mainstream range for the next 36 months excites me at the moment as I have serious reservations about the C EV etc. I think I'll start getting excited when we start to see some real next generation vehicles. Most interested in the W224 obviously.

Maybe the AMG's, particularly the new V8's, will generate some interest.

Even the latest 'Vision' is yet another complete waste of time IMO, even if it does hint at the W224. That's only expected in 2028.

I can catch that drift.

More recent official M-B product presentations have left me a bit disappointed following what appeared to be so promising in the form of the camouflaged pre-production prototypes. I'm even becoming increasingly skeptical regarding the upcoming AMG.EA vehicles. Kind of a bummer, really.

Recently, I find my affinity for BMW being seriously rekindled. The NKL ix3 floors me. As well as for some Volkswagen Core Group branded vehicles, EU and Chinese joint venture products alike. Audi ? Nothing interesting currently. Porsche ? Well, Porsche is PORSCHE. And I say this with the highest possible respect. I'm a bit saddened that their fortunes have been suboptimal as of late. But I'm confident that they will formidably recover. And really wanting to avoid "political or ideological discussions" and keeping things exclusively "automotive", the Chinese manufacturers are presenting some immensely interesting vehicles.

What a fantastic, fantastic looking thing. After all these years looking at test mules, one really can guess which ones are the winners. And this one sure as hell is.

Excited for this. If it looks as good as it does without camo would love to order one in a nice Individual color.

Ynguldyn's update:

G50 engines: 320, 330, and 330e will get the new B48TÜ3 in different tunes, M350 will use the current B58TÜ2.
Is this for the US market? I wonder if Europe will still have a 318d, 320d and 330d for the G50.

I assume that the B57 powered 330d G20 will be renamed as the 340d G50 to be in line with the current G60 540d, G70 740d and G45 X3 40d.
