I never understood why designers will mix straight horizontal bars, LED lights with a circular fog light directly below, it just seems odd.

That's not a fog light - it's one of the cameras/radars that's part of the adaptive cruise control systems. Not the best-looking bit of kit though [and an expensive fix in a frontal impact].

I thought that was placed in the center of the lower front grill, hence the cut out on the horizontal slats?

I thought that was placed in the center of the lower front grill, hence the cut out on the horizontal slats?

The current Panamera/model line uses a center-placed one. Audi, for example, has two radars in the fronts of their cars - if I'm not mistaken, one is the adaptive cruise control lens and the other is for night vision. Porsche is introducing night vision as part of an upgraded pedestrian safety technology package if I recall correctly, so that might explain why we see one of those lenses in an air intake rather than the center one.

Hope this helps/I'm not talking out of my imagination!

Khabah is right - Audi does put it's radars in the bumpers where for lights are usually found, and seems Porsche is going that route as well.

The horizontal LED-bar above the radar should be turn-signal lights.

Oliver Blume is very proud of their new airsuspension. He says: "The S-Klasse Mercedes is in the field of Luxury Sedans very good in terms of quality and comfort. Our new airsuspension however will top that" (translation Mick Briesgau).
He doesn't say in which way it will top it.

Could be, but it wouldn't be typical Porsche, to be the most comfortable one. I suppose he means the spread between sport and comfort.

That my guess too. If a car is equipped with adjustable/adaptive suspension, the questions that should be asked are:

Will it be more comfortable in comfort mode?
Will it be stiffer is sport mode?

The Panamera is unlikely excel at extreme comfort the way the S-Class does, but will be amazing at switching between being an M5 and S-Class.

It won't be. Not a chance in hell. But it is probably what he wanted to say nevertheless.

More refined, less punishing in sport mode without effecting driving dynamics and improved NVH in comfort mode is my bet. I agree with klier that the S class will still set the bar regarding a comfort oriented platform.

I still find it amazing that I like it from certain angles and dislike it from some others.

Much like the current one.
