Previewed earlier last year along with the Sky Sphere and Grand Sphere concepts, the last of the triumvirat, the Urban Sphere, is due to be presented at the Audi Media Day event later this month:

It appears to be "The Blowfish Version" of the svelte Grand Sphere concept.

It's odd that this image appears to have disappeared from digital media outlets. It is said to be an image that originates from Audis' design department. And it was "out in the open" on Chinese automotive sites just a few days ago. Strange...

Scheduled for presentation on April 19th.

Ohh, a lot of Irish coffee then, the 19th this and the EQS Suv, and the 20th the 7 series, cool
It is very funny that they all launching some important models within days of each other. Is VW or Porsche bringing out any important cars at the same time? Lol

Volkswagen will reportedly present a concept of the upcoming "Aero 8 electric Passat sedan" in the very near future. Originally earmarked for the now-cancelled 2022 Beijing Motor Show, it will now be presented at a corporate venue.

The illustration displays a car that looks far more promising than the many heavily camo'd prototype images that have been in circulation for the past few months.

However, the image of the Variant version may be closer to the mark...:

That looks alot more interesting and stylish than the rather bland current Passat model.

Unfortunately, the prototypes look a bit nasty:

Hopefully, it's just the camo deceiving us into thinking that it could be ugly. VAG seems to do that quite often. Just look at the recent Audi A6 e Tron Sportback prototype images.

Not very pretty, are they ? But when the cloaks come off, we are often left very pleasantly surprised.

We urgently need Da Silva back.

I wonder if it's gonna have rear drum brakes just like a 1985 Volkswagen Passat? Oh, that should bring memories to the elderly people who generally buy EVs.

No, really, most EV buyers are old folks, because they are generally retired, thus don't drive too much.

Perhaps that's the case in Brazil, but all the Tesla owners I know are under 40 and one under 50, and generally that's what I've noticed with the Model 3 and Y I see out and about.

Teslas are as rare as hen's teeth over here. They are pretty much unheard off. In fact, I have only seen one electric car in my life and that was a BMW i3 REX way back in 2017 I think (or was it 2018? Shit... Can't remember exactly, except it was definitely before the pandemic started).

Oh and btw, the i3 was being driven by an elderly man. I remember that.

This reminds me of the old Guiness advert, "88.2% of statistics are made up on the spot..."

.. some data from the USA...

In the Middle East, its virtually the same, I have never seen an electric car here at all, only some hybrids (Camry, Sonata, Highlander and Kona are the only cars I have seen) but it seems like there is no charging stations anywhere. Gasoline cars don't seem to be going away here yet.

95 octane costs $0.62/liter and that is expensive now, it used to cost $0.2/liter 2years ago.

Actually, I made a very good point. EVs are great for pensioners (retirees), because they don't drive too much and they do, they drive slowly and they won't be in a hurry for a quick DC charge since they have lots of free time.

If you're old and looking for a replacement for your Rover 75 or Toyota Camry, then get yourself an electric crossover.

It's a very reasonable suggestion that the mileage profile of older people might suit EV's quite well. But what you said was...

Which appears to be a false claim...

Well, all I know is that I made an excellent point. EVs are only useful for people who don't drive too much.

And old folks don't drive too much.

The Prius was a major sales flop over here, but the hybrid Corolla and Corolla Cross are proving to be quite successful, though they still sell less than their 2.0 170 hp counterparts.

95 octane is $1,57/liter over here. Expensive for local standards, but cheap for American standards I presume.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
