W204 C Coupe (2012) shut down suddenly

Hello,

I've had a problem in my car for two weeks. After starting my vehicle(2012 w204 c series coupe), I drive about 500 meters and the vehicle stops suddenly for just 1-2 secs. Steering wheel locks like car is not running, all warning lamps flashing for a second and after that the display gives me “release parking break” and “front left mulfunction, consult workshop” warnings for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, engine and steering wheel comes back and all warnings on the display dissappeared. Everything is back to normal in seconds.

What would be the reason? Is it dangerous to drive to nearest MB Service? (its 80km away)

Regards,

Ile tell you what's wrong, have you recently had the engine bay washed or very humid weather/fog..?

Some of these f#ckers around 2012 freak out due to this, what you need to do and yes this sounds crazy..
is to take a hairdryer and put it on the battery connector..and let it run to dry it up

where the yellow arrow is pointing.. below and around there... there is something called a front pre fuse box that is very sensitive to moisture..

if you are lucky like i was this will dry up all these crazy messages will be gone..

if not then you need to replace the front pre fuse box.

this happened to me after some idiots did a engine bay cleaning even when i specifically told them not to.

PS
Im not sure this is your problem, for me the car never got into gear so i couldn't drive off..but it seems to happen mid drive for you.
Before i found the blow dryer solution i just let it run and rev it up..and restarted like a shit load of times and it was gone.. not knowing that it was gone due to the temp rising in the engine bay..

PPS
If it works keep a blow dryer with you in case it happens again, cause i hade to use it a couple of times to get the moisture out completely, ive not had this problem again and its been nearly 2 years.

good luck
