C-Class W205 W205 C-Class Facelift Spyshots

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. Can't say I am in love with the lights. I wasn't a huge fan of them on the E-Class. I think the old quad light set-up gave the car a mean look.

How long has the 205 been in production?! A little over 2 years?! A facelift already?!

And why a quad headlight look? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the E-Class?

Well, that's fine, I guess. Now's a good chance to touch up some bits.

I think they are just using E's headlight on the prototype..Also this is too early for a C prototype as the S mules are still running.

I like the current C-Class headlight more than the E-Class. I believe the facelift will be similar to the facelift S-Class rather than E-Class.

What they should do is avoid using the exact same headlights for the entire line-up.

What I'm curious about is, why isn't anything covered up? Usually, all the bits and pieces are wrapped with the swirly camo tape....

Probably not final, but under the camo those lights have a very different shape than the current ones. Much less rounded. They have been slimmed in order to elongate them.

Already? Wow...

The W204 launched as a MY2008 and was refreshed for the MY2011, the W205 went on sale mid-late 2014 so a 3-3.5 year cycle then a refresh is routine for them.

There's nothing truly different about it outside of the headlamps which were grafted on from the E Class and have been seen already so nothing to hide really. I'm very interested in the rumored new rear bumper design, the high ass of the sedan is the only thing I don't really like but it can be broken up a bit with a nice spoiler.

Could it be Mercedes is just updating the headlights for the 2017 model year? It's out of character, but it's possible.

The 2008 W204 had fog lamps on the bottom and that was replaced with LED lamp bars in 2011 refresh. Since the W205 doesn't have front fog lamps maybe this will be how they update the design.

What they need to do is get rid of halogen lights completely as they cheapen the brand considerably.

The only Mercedes that carries halogens now is the CLA, from what I know. Taking cost into consideration, they may have to have halogens on that car. At least the C doesn't come with halogens like some model of the 3 series.

I belive there is also new E class with halogens (in europe)

In the U.S. the W204 was updated/facelifted for 2012 MY not 2011.

Do we know for sure, there is a cosmetic change for MY2017 which suppose to debut this Fall? If no significant change , I may buy the MY2016 at year end to save some money.

My leasing of a June 2014 W205 is ending in June 2017. Would be nice to have a facelift until then. The new 213 is a very nice car, but very very expensive.

I am hoping for digital instrument cluster and better rear end, and the new design for the AMG exterior plus all the drive pilot and parking pilot stuff.

A digital instrument cluster would be great. Let's see how much of the new Eclass Mercedes will trickle down to the C-Class for MY2018.

i hope it is revealed by spring 2017. If not - then I might go for a S212 facelift 2014-2016.
