What is Porsche 911 trying to offset with their use of bigger wheels?Hasn’t this been discussed before? The question should be: why does Audi use bigger wheels than Mercedes (and everyone else)?
And to that the answer is clear: Audi (and VW) use bigger wheels to visually offset their less than optimal proportions which, in turn, are caused by engine placement ahead of the front axle.
