David Coulthard – Half a lifetime with Mercedes-Benz
It is a rare feat for a Formula One driver to race for the same team for nine years. David Coulthard is one of those exceptions. “Between 1996 and 2004 he raced for McLaren-Mercedes 150 times and won 12 Grand Prix races in Formula One. From 2010 to 2012 he drove an AMG Mercedes C-Class in the DTM,” says Christian Boucke, head of Mercedes-Benz Classic. “Coulthard retained a close link to the company after his racing career – he was active as a Brand Ambassador for many years. On 27 March 2021 he will turn 50. Congratulations, David!” The first victory of the new Silver Arrows: For Mercedes-Benz, David Coulthard’s triumph on 9 March 1997 at the Australian Grand Prix was outstanding. Even closer partnership between the performance specialists
Mercedes-AMG and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team step up their cooperation Affalterbach/Brackley. Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team in Brackley, England, have already been linked together since 2012. They are now strengthening their ties even further. In concrete terms, this means: expanded pooling of the motorsport activities at the Mercedes-AMG high-performance brand, an even more in-depth, mutual transfer in the development of future-oriented, electrified technologies for motor racing and for the road, and all that as part of a partnership characterised by shared values and, of course, the passion for motorsport. The new design of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E PERFORMANCE for the new season...
Mercedes-AMG Motorsport expands its international GT involvement and will also be competing with customer teams in the DTM
Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is expanding its globally successful GT programme and will also be represented in the German DTM race series in 2021. In the inaugural season of the reframed series, multiple customer teams will be competing for points, victories and titles with cars from the traditional brand from Affalterbach. Like in previous years, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing schedule also includes numerous further high-quality race series and international motorsport classics: in the process, the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and in Spa are fixed elements on the calendar, just like the rounds of the GT World Challenge Europe, the Intercontinental GT Challenge and, of course, the ADAC GT Masters, all of them with high-class field...
