2022 Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Shmee150 will unveil his Zenvo at 10:40am today!

The thing is absolutely ghastly.
Fugly and cheap looking to the max.
No doubt it isn't his either, he's just making noise for that brand.

And to you and all the peeps over at FOS: enjoy, man! Wish I was there too.

This car is sensational.

I'm stuck watching that live feed from the moment you posted it, Soup!

I don't think I'll do any more work today...

PS. I'm so jealous of you guys, that are indeed attending the event. Enjoy!

Sadly the weather seems to suck today. The forecast looks a bit better in the coming days, but who knows.

Weather is warm, shame its not blue sky and sunshine, but I'm sat here in a T-shirt, and it's getting hot and humid.

Also, just met Steve Soper, so I'm happy enough.

Quick thoughts on some of the Bimmers.

Sat in the back of the M760e. Proximity of the screen to your face isn't a problem. The seating position is relaxed, reclined back enough to take the whole lot in without it feeling weird... No worse than sat in the front half of a real cinema.

Door screens are fine. No real lag though the navigation isn't thought out that well.

In the front it's fine. I like the controls. Only complaint regarding all the clear reflective materials, is with all the different angles, you can't necessarily see the icons if the lights catching it the wrong way.

iX M60... Not a fan. Hate the wheel and there is too much textured and non textured plastic.

iX1, the bits that are nice are nice, the rest is clearly bottom end BMW.

i4 Interior is good, though I prefer the feel of the crystal iDrive controllers.

Just my two cents, no real revelations.

Also, the AMG One sounded rubbish earlier compared to the Valkyrie and T60, to the point I can't help but wonder if it was on electric power.

Edit: just met @bmwblog too.

Interestingly the Formula E Gen 3 car that I thought would be quite fast didn't even make it into the top 10. Not sure if they were taking it really easy, or what - because they didn't show it.

Overall, the camera work has always been a bit spotty at FoS, and it's not much better this year with some cars getting all the angles and all the shots, and some cars being completely absent.

What did you think of the exterior designs of the 7 series and the X1?
What do they provoke in person especially on 7?

The Dual screens in the i4 looked better integrated than I thought they would, but didn't get a change to try out the functions. Still have my doubts on usability.

Did see @bmwblog on the M stand but Horatiu was busy taking snaps and didn't get the chance to pop over.

Some highlights for sure and some big disappointments but well worth going, my first time. I'd love to be there on a host Sunday for the Hill Climb when they can give it full beans. Slightly disappointed this morning as it started wet but it did vastly improve for the afternoon.

Say hi tomorrow. Will be around. Was quite hectic today, but will be back tomorrow to shoot more.

@Matski Great meeting you also. Thanks for saying hi.

Wish I could, back to work :( So much to see and do it warrants camping over the weekend for sure. Maybe next time. Look forward to more material.

Thought I may have made it into the background of your pics of the frozen black M3 touring but alas not ;)
