X3/X4 2024 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.

Evolutionary as expected. Not a bad thing. Over a million customers since the introduction of the first X3 E83 in 2003 wouldn’t have it any other way. I wonder if this is going to be the first Mexican assembled X3?

BMW got the recipe for the G01 X3 right. Has great standard levels of equipment, rides comfortably like a Mercedes regardless of spec. Have a big square boot and a light filled cabin.

Design is weak but can be forgiven for all its great qualities.

With F25 they left the rugged visual
Appeal of the E83. Which in its unpainted bumpers and solid toughness was highly durable as the adventurous BMW.
Market changes and demands changed the X3 into the best seller and all round competent SUV it is today.

I always argued that it’s succession left an opening for a specific rugged and durable option. And in the mid-2000s when expansion was in full operation there was discussion on a more durable variant with an abundance of black plastic and capable tyres.
As well as a non X-Drive option. We did get the latter as sDrive in some models in F25 and F15.

I honestly don't see anything evolutionary there, just the general shapes of an SUV, not even the camouflage can hide that it has nothing to do with the current one.

Traditional (old-fashioned) flush door handles (similar applications to the G26, G42, G60, U06 and U11) as I expected to be available in the upcoming X3.

I assume this will still be based on current platform as I read somewhere the X3 might be first to shift to the EV-biased Neue Klasse platform. Guess they will keep that for the new 3 series..

Looks like a bigger X1. Same style headlights and grille shape. Rear end gives me XM vibes.
Also peep those 20” G70 wheels.

Yup. A thoroughly resolved vehicle that's for sure.

When is the new X3 due? Surely late 23 at the earliest?

According to the latest update on the G80 Bimmerpost site: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=901686

"NA5 iX3 will be built in parallel with G45 X3 (similar to Mercedes making separate ICE and EV models for the same market segment). All these models will start production in 2027."

There is going to be a separation between the combustion powered X3 (G45) and the fully electrified iX3 (NA5).

Mercedes has said that from 2025 onwards, it will make all new models electric only. BMW resists.

When is this due @klier etc?

Wondering if I'll be replacing our current X3 with this or the new GLC.

It's 5 years old in June next year, but there's no rush to replace it as it still remains brilliant.

Right off the bat, it looks great, it's bigger than the previous one at first glance and it has something of the XM
The X1 grew, this one grew, I suppose the X5 and X7 will also do it, I calculate that the "pairs" will be interleaved? the X2 a little smaller than the X1 etc. etc.
.It seemed smaller to me than the one on the right side
This or the new GLC.

She will feel betrayed
