GT 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Vision EV

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
The body shape and contours look great. I am curious to see how the lights front and rear will look like. The screen layout could be a wrap around driver facing like the Concept car.

The graphics remind me of Need for Speed from the 2000s!

Somehow, I simply cannot conceive this as something being translated "one-to-one" into the production version. At least I hope not. It is....WAAAAY too out there. To the point of looking silly and destined to date very quickly.

As for the exterior...I could turn out to be very attractive indeed. Provided that the details aren't screwed up. I'm hoping that it is kept very clean.

Am I the only one that thinks they need to design a new steering wheel? Current one looks great but it’s been so many years now. AMG GT XX, new CLA and GLC electric, these are fully new generation cars, therefore a fully redesigned steering wheel would be great.
Plus, besides being driver focused and all, that interior layout looks like ass. Screens, screens, and more screens.
How did we go from this

To this ?

From a design point, the new interior layout looks cheap and soulless. The previous AMG GT had a sporty yet elegant look, which is exactly what a sporty Mercedes model should look like. New one looks like a PC monitor.

Indeed, the biggest mysteries as of yet are the series production interior...and the car's rear end. Will a Kamm-tail be presented ? Or will we see something "rounder", similar to that of the GT 2 door coupe ?

I think the taillights will stay true to the concept but won’t be as sculptured and over the top, and of course, have star patterns in them 😂.
Spy shots also suggest that the screen layout is pretty much exactly the same.

I'm very much hoping that M-B/AMG does not drop the ball. I'm concerned that Ola Källenius will continue to get things wrong before he is FINALLY "released".

And that screen/dash/vent layout is an act that REALLY needs to be "cleaned up".

Still nothing more revealed but these videos give no hints at all this is a Mercedes except for the stars in the headlights.

Perhaps it is simply the angle of the camera...

But I'm getting the impression that the front overhang does not fit the proportions of the rest of the car. The area from the firewall forwards looks oddly ungainly. Do I feel some disappointment looming when this car is officially presented ? Why am I getting the feeling that it can almost be expected that M-B will have once again dropped the ball.

I am not putting my hopes up high for this car. After the launch of the new CLA/CLA Shooting Brake and the Concept my opinion is that Mercedes design is heading in the wrong direction. But I could be wrong and hopefully will restore some faith after the GLC EV is revealed.

I think Mercedes got really confused with what they want design-wise. Every new model has a different face with no correlation to one another.

4 different design philosophies already.
I also still cannot comprehend how they managed to make that AMG GT look so f*cking ugly.
The current AMG GT 4 has such an amazing design, and this one looks like a cat fish.

While we’re talking about design, let’s also look at how repetitive and boring Mercedes designers have become. The same old bumper design for I don’t know how many years now.
Boooring.
2 generations ago all the models had unique faces and different impressions. Now they all have the same angry face.

And when they try to experiment, they end up looking horrible. I think new designers are the solution.

I was left disappointed with the concept and the mules so far don’t inspire any sort of confidence. In a world where Posche Taycan ecists, this GT EV’s design falls way short.

I'm also waiting for an analysis of BMW.
