Audi TT Moment 2.0 Concept

Does this guy like anything ever?
I used to like watching his videos since there aren’t many people that do car design videos but at this point he’s just hating on everything new.
He thinks every single car should have an emotional and organic design, which is such a boring concept.
Then he goes on and makes these “redesign” videos, essentially making them look so much worse 🤣. Never seen a good redesign from him at all.

There was a time when I enjoyed watching Sketch Monkey/Bembli videos. But as of the past 6 months or so, I usually give them a pass. They are simply no longer entertaining nor are they particularly informative or carefully researched.

The Concept C aka TT Moment 2.0 could make an impact on the perception of the Audi brand not witnessed since the days of the Urquattro, original TT and original R8. An immensely important vehicle for Audi. Representative of a hopefully very accurately translated new design paradigm. Crucial regarding perhaps the very existence of the brand in the future.

Don't f*** this opportunity up, Audi.

Yeah - it's growing on me. Even the "brazilian helipad" grille. Actually, barring the front, on which the jury's still out, the overall silhouette, styling and proportions are great. Interior is(y)

I can get behind an electric TT. I can't get behind an electric Boxster. Just won't.

Both are going to stuggle severely.
Slightly off topic, but I just read Toyota is discontinuing the Prius over here, just because it isn't a crossover or SUV basically. They used to sell thousands and thousands with it being the OG hybrid and all.......now it's replaced by cars like the RAV4. It's what people want sadly.

A clear "Fraschella Connection":

But hey...why not ? Most certainly NOT "boring".
I think the main problem with Jaguar was that it didn’t have any relationship with their design heritage. That’s why it got super mixed reactions. I personally really liked the radical approach but people were mad.
But the TT clearly gives nods to past Audi’s and it’s not a full redesign of what a modern TT should look like. That’s why it doesn’t look as ridiculous as the Jaguar imo.

According to Audi, the concept is %95 production ready. So Besides having smaller wheels and a bit of tweaking here and there, this is the final version.
I have read that before from other car manufacturers. That 5% is usually more significant than it would seem.

That interior is sensational. Too bad the transition from concept to reality will result in disillusionment.
The greatest enemy of Audi is Porsche.
I think it looks decent. I have my doubts about this interior surviving production. But it's definitely not the typical VWAG boring shite.

Everything seems pretty doable, pretty simple shapes. It's not like the Jaguar concept or iNext interior. Even if it doesn't look as good as the concept, just the fact that it has physical buttons all over the inside and a hidden away screen puts it ahead of Mercedes and BMW by a long shot IMO.

Does this new minimal design philosophy mean that Sphere concepts / or that specific design themes are scrapped? Or were they also using the same design language with this current TT concept?
Cause all of the current Audi’s got softer designs now, following the release of Sphere Trio. I assume this is a completely different era of design for Audi.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
