Especially as the youth simply doesn’t care about EVs anymore.

At least in my part of the world.

If Audi want to build a successful TT successor, they should have a look at the GR86 or the M2.

GR-Yaris, GR86 and the M2 ( less affordable TBH) are the somewhat affordable Dreamcars of todays youth.

I was on a mountain road the other day(Sunday), I sat on a bench and watched the cars roaring past me.

It was a Sunday , all shops were closed. People went only for a drive, only for pleasure.

I saw all kind of cars, but 99% were ICE, usually the sportiest version of the car.
TT-RS,RS3,RS4,RS6, AMGs with V6/I6 and V8, M‘s with I6 and V8( all kinds ob M2,M3,M4,M5,X3M,X5M and so on.) several Porsches and Ferraris.

None of them would buy a electric TT, with a 5 banger yes.

I don't think the youth in your part of the world will have much say in the matter. Eventually all new cars on sale in Europe will be EV's. ICE vehicles will be taxed off the roads eventually.

It is. And it is fictitous. But the stance is exciting and the general aesthetic remains clean and uncluttered IMHO.

And as you are aware, a number of German auto journos have been test driving the AUDI E5 in China quite recently. Their verdicts have been quite favorable. It really appears to be the type of "Audi" that should be coming from Neckarsulm.

Todays youth are more aware of environmental issues than I was, or even today care to be, and a lot of them will never even learn to drive let alone buy a car.

Some people just aren't interested in owning multi-thousand dollar depreciating assets just for mobility. Especially, when even cheap cars these days represent a significant chunk of a downpayment on a home. Or several months (or even years) of rent.

They don't want something different, they want something good and easy.

AKA, an EV. "The youth" doesn't care about cars whatsoever. They probably care for Robotaxis and cars with no steering wheels at all. It's better to stream your TikTok than drive your car.

Good and easy are Petrol or Diesel cars, you don’t need 10 different cards to charge for the cheapest price, and you don’t need to wait 30min to charge the car.


Most of them has no Wallbox at home.

On the fuel pump there’s one price, and you fill the car within a few minutes.

I know a few younger people, none of them dreams from an EV, those who like cars, dream about a BMW M with S58 engine or a GR Yaris, those who aren’t into cars, like the Mazda CX-5 or a Volvo XC60 or a Skoda Kodiaq. SUV because it’s practical.

Respectfully, Switzerland is a pretty rich country on a per capita basis. People dreaming of BMW M or high end AMGs is more realistic than most people in the UK, who would struggle to justify buying a brand new Honda Civic.

Absolutely, this is true.

People are coming to Switzerland to work, and to be able to have a Lifestyle they were dreaming in their home country.

The GR Yaris is an affordable car, If you work full time.

The RS3 ( to be back on topic) is also one of the dreamcars you can afford If live rural.
