I agree, the face lift has the opposite effect and makes the front end look more dated than the original version.

Completely agree. I've seen some bad facelifts, but I can't recall one that has dated the original version THIS much more.

I hate the FL Passat CC and I'm not entirely sure the new Golf will be an improvement over the out going model, though the new Boxster is a honey.

A5 Sportback and A4 are 3er rivals, but I have this feeling the A4 and A5 SB are very much rivals for eachother too. Passat CC is not premium.

Very true and by now offering the A5SB with a 3 rear seating option this has brought it to the attention of an even greater audience. I bet if BMW offered the X6 with a similar option it would steal sales from the X5 too.

Since 2010 X6 is also offer as 5 seater (free option).

Didn't realise that was now offered as it wasn't available when the brother bought his.

I made a mistake here. What I mean is that I can't recall a face lift in which the ORIGINAL dates it this much.
