Autobild: BMW 3er vs 5er - best car?

Excuse my poor german but if I translated it correctly this is a few things they said:

- With Adaptive suspension the comfort differences between 5er and 3er are small.
- 3er take the corners better than 5er
- They think 3er looks better than the 5er
- interior ergonomics (3er, 5er) are good in both
- 5er with slightly higher interior materials
- Both are equally good but If size and prestige don't matter choose 3er

3er interior design is newer, more expressive, but other than that I'll take the 5-Series for the better room and comfort.

I own an F10 but my vote goes to 3er!

I prefer the looks of the 3 and if the first drive opinions are anything to go by then I will prefer it to drive too because even it's rear space is big enough for our family needs and as I am only 5'10" tall it's front is plenty roomy. Though I do prefer the look of the interior of the 5 over the 3 based on purely photo comparisons, maybe when I see the 3 series for real I might prefer it's dash too.

But that's how I would be buying it and I already know how the 5 drives with these systems. I also like the comments of feeling lighter than it really is, even compared to the E90 because I'm yet to read a reference to the 5 feeling this way.

Anyway who cares, it's only a lighthearted debate on which is preferable, no biggie.

5er all day everyday..i do not like this 3er.. plus i like larger cars.

In real life, owning the car I already do, I'd pick the 3'er as it would be an exceptional second car that isn't redundant to my E-Class, giving me different forms of driving pleasure, plus it's cheaper

If I didn't have a car and was car shopping, I'd be looking at the 5-Series over the 3-Series without a doubt.
