Could be a mix of Cup 2 approved Ferrari tires + Trofeo R, can't find anything on Cup 2 R :confused.doodle:

I dont think it used the supertyre Cup 2 R, it would have gone under 1:10 with these tyres for sure

If it truly was on cup2 "R", then the rumor I read was true. I read a rumor either on fchat or rennlist that stated the pista would be getting cup2 "R" tires.

In the article they mentioned several times, that Pista was using Cup 2 R tires. There was a ferrari team with 6 sets of carbon wheels with both Cup 2 and Cup 2 R tires.

GT3 RS was also on Cup 2 R tires, but they mentioned it could be a second or so quicker with fresh tires.

Very strange the GT3 was not faster on Cup 2 R, even if they where not fresh....?

Rennlist it was:

back on Cup2 tires:

Cup2 N0 (Eco / 918 Spec)
Cup2 N1 (991.1 GT3 + RS Spec)
Cup2 N2 (991.2 GT3 + RS + GT2RS Spec)

Cup2 ZP (special road registration needed for MB GT R and Z06)
Cup2 R (the new best Cup2 tire - which was mounted on the GT2RS in Hockenheim (and i THINK also on the NOS car. but whoopsy is well informned and the .2GT3RS doing "just" 10sek slower... mhh. maybe 6.47 where really Cup2 N2...)

a dedicated Cup2 for the Pista (maybe the R) is also in development.

I think this only confirms how incredibly fast are 600LT and Pista, so much faster than already incredibly fast GT3 RS.

Look at the difference against R8 V10 RWS, this already is a fast car.

Sounds strange still.
The R8 was on normal P Zero...

Looking at other laps the GT3 RS has done with Cup 2 R tyres it should not be only 1-2 sec faster with fresh tyres, but rather 2-3 sec. So it is strange it looses so much grip after some laps. We also know this tyre has the same grip as a 1986 Opel Acona 1,6 when the tyres are not warmed up. And not to mention the grip when it is wet - and cold.

This tyre seems to have its maximum grip under specific circumstanses and for a very limited time. A street legal tyre yes, but who would use this as a street tyre?

For track test would be better slicks tyres for every car, just like some motorcycles magazine.

Looking at the text in Autocars web page it looks quite clear that the Pista did the lap on Cup 2 R, see attached screenshot

Cup 2 Rs are 2-2.5s faster than the Cup 2 N2s, with the GT2 RS and GT3 RS on Sachsenring. Non-R Cup 2s are a mixed bag, there are two wildly different sets available for the AMG GT R, and the Z06's were regarded by most as a step up too. Old Trofeo Rs were about 1s quicker than old Corsas on Anglesey Coastal.

Trofeo R is faster or almost the same?
k
Trofeo R is quite similar to Cup 2
I rank Pirelli/Michelin tyres like this:
- Pirelli P Zero / Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Sport 4 S
- Pirelli P Zero Corsa
- Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R / Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2
- Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ZP (specially designed for Corvette Z06, also used by AMG GT R)
- michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R (specially designed for Porsche, will also be used by Ferrari)
