"RINA," THE ANALOG CARBON BARCHETTA WITH THE SIXTIES AT HEART
Valfenera d’Asti, January 29, 2025 – Automobili Mignatta presents the first teaser images of Rina, an exclusive two-seater barchetta that combines the timeless elegance of 1960s sports cars with the most advanced construction technologies. Rina is the perfect synthesis of what makes Italian-made cars world-famous: beauty, innovation, craftsmanship, and driving pleasure. Its iconic design conceals an ultra-modern carbon monocoque and an outstanding mechanical setup—a technical formula that maximizes the connection between vehicle and driver.
The car, built to order with artisanal precision, will be fully revealed on May 8, 2025, and will be assembled by hand in Valfenera d’Asti (Piedmont) in an exclusive limited production of just 30 units per year.
“Rina is a car deeply rooted in the Piedmont region, a land that has given birth to many milestones of the international automotive industry. It is a tailor-made vehicle, designed to conquer the curves of the Monferrato, Langhe, and Roero hills while allowing drivers to fully enjoy the extraordinary Piedmontese landscapes. Rina is a true excellence of this land rich in history and will feature a powerful internal combustion engine that meets modern environmental standards, delivering thrilling sensations and a unique, distinctive soundtrack.”

"Instant Icon" Design
Rina's lines benefit from the lightness and versatility of carbon fiber, a material used to shape the bodywork of a car that pays tribute to the excellence of Piedmontese craftsmanship. From the 1960s, the car inherits elegance and purity of form—the foundation of a quintessentially Italian approach to automotive design. A long hood, powerful fenders, and a sleek, tapered rear: Rina boasts sensual curves that seem to glide through the air, telling a story of Italian heritage on four wheels.
"From the very first moment, I knew that Rina was not just a car but a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create something truly special, something 'immortal.' Watching my creation come to life, taking shape day after day, has been an extraordinary journey filled with emotion and satisfaction at every stage of the creative process. To me, Rina is not just a project—it is the most authentic expression of my lifelong passion for automotive design."
— Davide Dessì, Chief Designer of Rina and Professor at the Scuola Politecnica di Design
Refined Engineering
The extensive use of carbon fiber—for the monocoque, bodywork, and numerous other components—is the key to Rina’s unparalleled driving sensations. Thanks to this composite material, the car boasts an extremely low dry weight of approximately 1,000 kg and exceptionally high torsional rigidity, ensuring sublime driving dynamics.
This extreme lightness and structural rigidity are paired with a meticulously engineered mechanical layout. Beneath the hood lies a powerful and exhilarating naturally aspirated V8 engine, positioned in a front-mid configuration and connected to a six-speed transaxle manual gearbox, which in turn drives a rear limited-slip differential. These elements promise to deliver Rina an extraordinary dynamic character, an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, and a fully analog driving experience—unmatched in today’s automotive landscape.
Meticulous Attention to Driving Position
Great care has been dedicated to the study and design of the driving position, ensuring exceptional ergonomics. The driver and passenger seats are integrated directly into the carbon monocoque to provide the best possible interaction between car and driver—an engineering solution that only a select few cars in the world can claim.
Rina has no infotainment system or radio: the roaring V8 engine provides the soundtrack for every journey. The electronic components are minimal, designed solely to enhance the car’s performance and comfort.
