M5 BMW M5 & M5 Touring G90/G99 VIDEO Thread

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
I just noticed the missing iconic M5 side vents.
Is it because of the charge port? They could have placed it higher and thinner.

Test drive one today. Amazing car, incredible presence and width IRL.

Really couldn’t feel the weight due to the performance.

Ideal daily.

Deposit placed on the touring ✅

Congrats. How does it compare to an m3 in handling and fun?

A daily for 150K Euro with no massage, no soft closing doors and no keyless entry in the rear doors?) Oh yes!

Cheapest M5 ever.
Nothing in this class comes close.

Like I said, haters gonna hate. And do I care about that? Not at all.

Hate? There is no hate! Pugs are not hated because they are useless, stupid, pathetic, slow, fat, snoring, grunting dogs with a bunch of defects. They are just adorable dogs. When a cat weighs 20 kg and can barely move, everyone around is simply admired by it's every clumsy movement. Do you get the analogies?)))

Handling - for a much larger and heavier car, is compromised in direct comparison to the G8X range.

The battery is in the boot, so the weight towards the rear of the car is noticed when pushing the car. It doesn't feel as nibble in the corners, or has that twitchy rear end personality as the M3.

The fun factor is definitely there, however.

With the emission regulations, the only feasible way to retain the V8 is by pairing with the Hybrid. Imagine if the M5 downgraded to an Incline 6. I much prefer this compromise opposed to downsizing. It still retains the character of all the previous generations. I'm grateful we are still getting big displacement in 2024.

Speaking with the dealers, it seems like an M5 Competition is off the cards for now.

It's a V8 hybrid without downsizing. It's as good as it can get in today's world. From what I have read, the V8 doesn't seem to be nerfed and behaves as expected.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany. Official website: BMW M
