Concept BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe concept

BMW aren't launching anything next week. They are presenting a concept car. Big difference.

There is a big difference, the media are going into this launch event , some already attended BMWs media only on embargo presentation of the Gran Lusso in Munich. Fully aware that BMW have described how they will use this concept to pre-visualise their luxury portfolio. ie the next 7er and sub-sequent models .

What is the nature of this "launch" and when is it?
Over 100 days , the i3 is revolutionary in itself and also you have the energy , sustainability and responsibility aspects involved with the manufacturing of the i3.

Wowow, completely missed this because of the S class. Looks very sexy so far. Too bad it will be a mere concept.

I am so exited about this, the absolute number 1 design legend with BMW to produce a Big Coupe, will this eclipse the CS ?:D

It has the potential to do so, yes!

I have not seen it yet because I want to be surprised, when I go to Lake Como.
Those that have seen say it embodies the avantgarde individuality of the CS Concept.

Will the V12 have the Wraigth level of power? I hope it does!! Should be epic.

2 door > 4 door. And this 2 door appears to be an updated version of the CS, but in coupe form. And with V12, it's an instant CL fighter, would it ever be produced.

^I cant make up things for you ( i guess im not the new Scott:() :

Power comes from a front-mounted V12 engine, most likely the twin-turbo 6.0-litre unit found in current iterations of the 7-series. This unit is rated at 544bhp and 550lb ft, which would give the coupé suitably rapid and smooth performance.

I know they have that engine in three different states of tune , standard V12 , a half-way house between standard and the Wraith and of course the engine in the Wraith which at that power level will remain exclusive to the Wraith.
From what I know public reaction will be monitored in regards to this concept.
If and its a big IF . Then it would probably be identified as the 8er to provide consistency.

The models they are looking at are potentially for the 8er are to mirror the 6er in Coupe , Cabrio and Gran Coupe.
Along with an X7 SAV , and stranger things have happened , potentially there could be an X8.

LOL I don't see what's funny Klier. It was a genuine question. BMW has a world class design time. Why go to Pininfarina?

For that little touch of Italian flair the Germans will never reach ;)
I just thought it was funny. It's not like they need them, but they like working with them. They work with the Italians every now and then on a concept....

In the italian german collaboration, the M1 is the epitome, Gugiaro design - Bmw soul

So guys, there is hope for this Pininfarina as well :D

M760i G11 ;)

It may been a small photo, but that rear-end doesn't look all that exciting or promising. The thin Lincoln-like lights, and the massive rear window. But hey, it's just a design project.
