Pros: Firmer pedal and they last for a long time, if you know to brake and not break. (Tested/Ordered on several 911 models ) another advantage is you can brake late!

Cons: Pricey as hell, but you get what you pay for. (e.g. front set of rotors only $9,800 for the 911 and $14,000 for the CGT)

For road use you'll be just fine, however, for track use you'll be going through several pads and tires at the same time. Unless, the rotors starts to catch fire like on the SLR :cautious:

OTOH, on a light, regularly tracked car, especially if manual, I would stay off them for now, till replacement costs come down a bit. They already are affordable on American cars that offer them, not so for the German ones.

I am curious Savage, how did you monitor it?

They just connect your car to a computer and in 5 minutes come back with the printed report. The system use an algoritmus and I was told, is very very precise..

So, @Soup do you think the CF:s will hold better han the steelies when it comes to bad driving on track?

I can't speak for every manufacturer, but with Porsche (996/997) you're better off with steels for the track, I've never replaced mine on the GT2, only brake fluid flush every 2 years.

Maybe I relied on the cars weight to slow it down and downshift, the pedal is very accurate with a slight tap (instead of slamming) the speed drops and slows down immediately.

That's the beauty of CCB if you know how it works, only with carbon ceramic brakes heat is what you need the most.
