Thanks dude! Small world... I've been watching all of these cars.

- The 5er is terrific, but the miles are too high.
- Was considering #2 but can't live with that interior
- #3 has been my plan B for a few days now. It's nicely equipped and has the sexy oyster-leather interior
- #4 aint bad, but no nav.

Sidenote - There is a F30 modern line parked in front of the office today. It's so gorgeous it huts. Outside chance I'll just scrap plans and buy the 3 out of pure lust.

...and I'm guessing you've seen these also, but what the heck. :D

Decent mileage, but tick high on the price ..but it is a 5er though!

2010 BMW 328 i xDrive, $35,995 - Cars.com

2009 BMW 328i for sale in Seattle - WBAUT93559A191116 – BMW CPO

High mileage, tick high priced, xDrive, Saddle brown interior.

Wow! That 5er wagon is interesting. Not sure if it would fit in my parking space, but I'd never really considered the 535. I love the M package... Believe it or not you actually see these things around San Francisco.

Thanks again Beemer. I've been driving myself nuts with the car hunt this past week... I've been losing sleep and getting nowhere.

I made an offer on this gorgeous Avant, but somebody beat me to it:
2011 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Premium, $44,988 - Cars.com

Also looking into this S4. Seems like a good price...

Went down to BMW of SF to test drive the 535xi - wouldn't you know it, closed for Easter. Guess some things ARE still sacred.

Looking at the listing again, seems that this 5er wagon might be too good to be true. I had a look at the CarFax - and the maintenance history appears a bit 'lemony.' (Why does a cabin air filter get replaced twice in 2K miles?)

Also appears to have no nav. Bummer.

IT'S DONE. Here's the new addition to the family (ok, wiki image but car looks the same).

edit... actual pics:

Congratulations on the new car:t-cheers: How about some details on the car and the deal? Looks great - enjoy:usa7uh:

Thanks Donau! It's a 2011, Prestige, with the S-Line package. Been working around the clock with a broker for the past week to nail-down an Avant precisely like this one.

The car is less than a year old and has 4k miles on the odometer. It's CPO so I have the balance of the six-year 100k mi warranty. Thanks to the broker, I was able to purchase the car for $4,500 less than its asking price.

Wife is mighty pleased that I'm done spending every waking minute searching car listings like a lunatic.

Thanks Ramen - Yep, we're living in the city now. I was offered a job at another automotive marketing firm in SF a couple years back so we made the move.

Thanks Osna - that's awesome, it's practically new and without the premium of the new car. And of course the best part is that it's just like you want it and it looks great:t-cheers:

Ha! Well... it was close for the 328i. The space gray wagon down in Glendale was the only one I found that fit all the criteria. Were it located in SF this may have ended differently.

Congrats on the great deal buddy! Extra glad to hear it's a CPO. I bought my E92 as a CPO, and it just adds that little extra piece of mind. .. though it is sad that you didn't get a BMW. ;)

So now you're gonna spend every waking minute admiring/driving/cleaning the car. Can the wife handle that ? :D

Thanks buddy. It's all good - I already spend every minute cleaning, oiling, adjusting and riding my road bike. She's used to it by now.

In my heart, I really wish the argument could have been made to go BMW - I've always lusted after the 3er sport wagon, the smooth NA I6 engine, that telepathic E91 handling... Unfortunately, there just weren't enough of them out there with the perfect match of equipment/color/milage/etc. The search could have taken months.

Hopefully BMW comes to its senses and brings the E31 to the US - I'd put in for one in a heartbeat.

That's pretty awesome. Dude, you should've told me. I've made a million trips to SF. Hell I was just there on Friday. I live only about an hour and 15 mins away.

Hit me up next time you're around! We'll grab a cold one.

I'll be there May 4th. If you're off for lunch around 11:30-1pm, then I can surely meet up. PM me your number, or I can give you mine if you want. It's always good to hang out with the folks from here.
