Something went terribly wrong for the 'Stang. It would have to be a 14 - 15 seconds 1/4 mile car to lose to the M2 like that. I mean, it was puting bus lengths on it even midway through the 1/2 mile.

Something doesn't look right with how badly it lost. Here in the US, the real comparison would be with a Shelby GT350 and the M2. Both similarly priced (and dealers trying to gouge with mark-ups over msrp). I almost pulled the trigger on two Shelby GT350's new (one was a 2016 and the other a 2017) at msrp ($57K and $60K). But that would have entailed keeping 3 cars.
