Easy, Lazy, "Creativity Stifling" AI Prompt Generated Automotive Design

I've noticed that prompt-generated Gemini AI imaging works particularly well with VAG's "volume brand group" and Volkswagen Chinese ID joint-venture designs. It also works quite well with Mercedes-Benz brand designs. With Porsche usually quite o.k. as well. BMW and Audi designs are oddly very hit and miss. Not being especially interested in hypercars, I have no idea how it would work with Lamborghinis or the like.

Just saying.

In simple terms, I'd suggest that's because there's not a great deal of deviation from an 'average' example of those brands of car. If everything looks pretty similar to begin with it's not hard to mash together elements of them and it still look cohesive. I'd imagine if you worked on a design specifically for a BMW of the 70's and 80's, you get a much more plausible result than one of more recent eras - because back them (and seemingly in the short-term future) everything looked pretty similar.

That indeed sounds very plausible. Thanks.

Also interesting: In this image, AI apparently incorporated quite a bit of the M-B EQS sedan's design. Although I prompted absolutely nothing of the sort. But somehow, this works for me far more than the actual EQS sedan.

I don't see future designs, I see mash-ups of recent models of these brands.

Photorealistic? Yes. Impressive details: check. Original? Not at all.

That is the crux of prompt generated AI imaging, I suppose.

I'm really just playing around here. Attempting to put automobiles together that I personally would like to see in the metal. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't. I am not nor have I ever been employed in the automotive industry and I most certainly am not a designer. I can't sketch to save my life. Only one dimensionally at best. Some sort of neurological spatial perception deficiency syndrome, I suspect.

I designated the thread in the manner that I did to express that it should not be taken too seriously. And as a good many on these forums are highly critical of AI prompt generated imaging, they'll simply ignore the thread. And that is absolutely fine. Then again, maybe a few will have an occasional look and see and be entertained as well as be compelled to comment. And that would be nice. Discourse is good.
