Politics French teachers afraid to offend after jihadist murder

In France:

Sadly, not uncommon in Germany as well. Acqaintances who are professionally involved in the education system tell unsettling stories. Subtle as well as not so subtle coercion has them often treading on raw eggs.

A tragic event but nothing to do with Brexit.

Sure. A far-right nutcase who was anti-immigration goes out and kills a pro-remain MP he targeted on the very morning Nigel Farage unveiled his Nazi-inspired "Breaking Point" poster, in the final week of the EU Referendum which was heavily focused around immigration, has "nothing to do with Brexit".

In France:

What does this have to do with Brexit then? Post reported. If you want to talk about French teachers dealing with Islamic issues, then create a separate thread. People who want to discuss that can do so in that thread, or alternatively, they can avoid that thread.

Because it all stems from the same thing, arseholes who can't accept that they lost. Part of me would actually like to see protesting the result of an election or referendum banned. It's completely futile, dangerous and defeats the object of having a democracy.

I'm genuinely thinking you're taking the piss now. You've got to be a parody account, surely?! You think protesting "defeats the object of having a democracy"? Jesus, this is hilarious.

Quite right, nothing to do with it at all, nobody kills because of a poster, that's just idiotic.

It has more to do with the murder of Jo Cox really, which you brought up. A pro-uncontrolled immigration MP didn't get shot because of a poster, she got shot because terror attacks across Europe as a result of bad immigration policies have become far too frequent. That does not justify it, but it is the reason, not some poster.

Protesting the result of a vote does defeat democracy. A vote literally is democracy, protesting the result is protesting democracy.

Being idiotic doesn't stop it being true.

French teachers being scared to criticise Islam in French schools in 2020 has zero connection to the EU Referendum in 2016, and your repeated attempts to bring up Islam in a thread about Brexit shines a great big spotlight on your underlying motive for being active in this thread. Take your Islamaphobia to a different thread.

Well people will believe whatever they want to and try make everyone else believe it, but it would be very difficult to make a poster to get people to kill on its own. There needs to be something much, much larger going on around it. Did a poster make Anders Breivik kill?

Of course it does, far more than your poster. Perhaps you should approach these teachers and the many victims about their Islamophobia. You brought up the poster, so you introduced the matter, not me, for the second time now.

Here's your logic, posters make people kill, not actual killing. :D The way I see it, there has been a massive, sustained wave of indiscriminate terror attacks across the continent, and after a while opposing terrorists began striking at parties they believed responsible. In the middle of all that Brexit happened with some posters and stuff.

I introduced "the matter"? What are you talking about? The "Breaking Point" poster inveiled in 2016 is directly linked to Brexit, the subject of this thread. What does the poster have to do with French teachers in 2020?

You're incessantly talking about Islam in a thread about Brexit. You're obsessed.

The people in the poster appear of an Islamic nature.
