I find Audis to be attractive cars, but the Q7 was very bland: let’s hope the ques from the Q8 will revamp it with the LCI.

Its brother the Touareg looks more premium inside and outside and I dont believe that the Lci will change something significantly.
The Touareg looks upscale in press photos but when I sat inside one last month I felt it lacked an intangible sense of luxury for the price it’s selling at. A few areas of the interior had hard plastics and the size of the door bins is embarrassingly small for the sheer size of the car.

Ishhhh even the lci can not save that car, the real problem with the Q7 is it's profile, just look at the silhouette, it screams station wagon... Also yes it is very bland

I hear you.

However, its air suspension has been second to none in the class, driving it is very easy and it’s hugely practical. All of that makes many, especially parents, overlook the station wagon shape.

The Q7 is a very good and very liked car.

Yes I agree with you, just wish the looks would match the driving ability, I am very curious to see what Marc Lichte has in store for the gen III Q7

The Q7 is a class act product held back by its dreary, dumpy looks.

It appears to be very popular amongst middle aged to older Asian buyers in my neck of the woods.

Same here across the world interestingly. Despite our criticisms of it’s looks it sells well and is a popular large family car behind the GLS.

What are they going to do to the interior? It’s a generation behind now.

The first Q7 was a relatively cool looking Large SUV in S-Line, post-facelift.

That’s the point I am trying to put across. The new X5 looks cool but has cramped rear legroom and the new GLE will still be behind the Q7 in practicality. It the Q7’s USP over its competitors.

The station wagon is pro in this respect but a con from an aesthetic point of view.

Other than that the car excel in three important categories for families which are comfort, ease of driving and space.

Audi haven’t updated the interior of the A4 and I doubt they redesign the centre console of the Q7. Although the center console screen is small and dated, the Q7 still has a cutting edge digital dashboard.

Just going off casual observations from where I live the Q7 would be the second most common large SUV behind the XC90, they are everywhere.

I can't believe it but the interior interior looks identical to the Q8 but there are differences in the row of buttons at the chin of the bottom display and some buttons around the gear selector are black instead of aluminium.

If the Q7 does get an entirely new interior it will be the biggest interior update for a facelift model ever.

Well, even when what you are saying is probably true, for Audi it probably is no big deal. The Q8 and the Q7 most likely share a lot of the interior components and changing an old interior for one it is already design should not be too difficult.

Hope the rea exhaust pipes survive. The current trend of using a plastic piece even in the most expensive Audis is a shame.

^^ damn that’s looking promising.
Yes that huge face makes the Q7 too American-looking. This is probably a sign the Q5 will get the new facia too come around facelift.
But that oversized grille on all Audi's is becoming too pastiche now that I hope the design time are looking at a new direction.

Exactly this. However signed that off made a terrible mistake.
To see trim pieces laser cut to resemble exhaust ports is something that a
Budget manufacturer would do to add more sporty flair. It is not what you expect to see on a luxury car costing upwards and below of €100,000+.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
