Mercedes is finally growing at a good rate. Audi and BMW will be a photo finish is seems for 2013?

M

^Its just that china diff that is killing MB in terms of numbers sold..

Growth is great.. now if they can get china rolling they should be on top.

Kudos to BMW for managing to keep high rates for that long on top of so many annual sales!
Impressive... being the only independent company of the big three!

They are no more a partner to MB than Toyota will be to BMW. It's simply a matter of component sharing and there is no cross ownership.

MB is still being handicapped by China and production limitations.

What are you talking about?
If that's aimed at my posts. Please re-read them again :)

You are suggesting that BMW is the only independent premium manufacturer because Mercedes is essentially partnered with Renault/Nissan right? But that is not a structural partnership (cross shareholding). So if in your eyes component sharing means they are partnered, BMW is now/will be partnered with Toyota as a result of their join sports car/hybrid program(s).

If you are suggesting MB is not independent because of it's parent company Daimler, then that has always been the case.

Hmm nope. I'm not suggesting that. I was just giving a forum member the information he requested.
In the same post I explained what my initial post was suggesting. And yes it's about VAG and Daimler.
"Has always been the case" doesn't matter at all. My point was simple and factual.

Marcus asked who is Mercedes partner and you replied Renault-Nissan. You were clearly implying Mercedes was not independent because of their relationship with Renault/Nissan and that brings me back to the point about BMW and Toyota.

Amazingly wrong. Please re-read everything again and again and again :)
The word "Partner" came from Marcus... I just answered his question. Is it really that hard to get?
MB is not independent because of Daimler and that's it. Nissan-Renault has nothing to do with my point.

PS: Please excuse me if I sound a little impatient but I'm used to a "easier" type of communication :)

Looking at the car market today, where almost all makes struggle, we should be happy that our 3 Germans continue to grow.

I doubt it.

Audi only has A3 sedan & cabrio, and A8 LCI in the sleeve. While BMW has some bigger cards to play with (two of them are HUGE volume sellers): new X5, LCI 5er, 4er coupe, 3er GT. So mind 5er & X5 sales have been slower in the latest months due to LCI / Mk change, and 3er GT is already starting to add quite some sales to the BMW sales figures.

MB will also get a great boost with CLA (already available) & especially GLA.

Next years will be even more interesting: MB adding B-class XL, introducing new C-class. BMW adding Active Tourer and later Gran Tourer, i3, i8, X4, additional 4er models (GC), launching new 2er, X3 LCI etc.

Audi ... what brand new models are coming for Audi in 2014? Q6? A3 SuperAvant? I guess new Q7 is coming. What else? A6 LCI?

I just bought a second car and again... it's not a BMW. So count two sales less this year :D
Go BMW! You can do it even w/out me!
