Why not? Not like the actual C63S is anything that anyone wants. Might as well daydream in here.Is this the fairytale's thread?

Not sure what's so ridiculous about it. What he's described is essentially a tuned up C43 with 470hp.

Which would definitely be pretty quick without the extra mass of batteries it needs to carry.
What would be fun however, is if Mercedes made a inline 6 version of the M139L with the same boost set up, and then stick that in the C63. Should theoretically be capable of 705 horsepower.
And then make a V8 version with a theoretical 940hp.
It would be a project similar to building a new car. You’d have to take the entire car apart to remove the EDU, additional transmission, battery, not to mention fix the rest of the car to fit. No one in their right mind would try.Has anyone tried to decouple the engine from the electric motor yet? Even though it’s a four banger, removing the electric paraphernalia (theoretically) should save a lot of weight — maybe 600-650kg? That would surely make the 475hp I4 powered car quite powerful and a much better handler…
I think this is another W203 C55 moment with the W206. AMG lost their marbles with this car and thought the customers don't actually buy their cars cause of the powertrains, but they wrong and it's shown in the dismal sales.
Instead of installing the measly 4 cylinder they could have saved 200kg and installed the same V8 (612PS) as in the GT 63 Pro.
With a weight of 1900kg this car would be even faster than the 4-cylinder C63 as its shown that the GT 63 Pro is claimed to be faster and it weighs 1950kg.
0-100km/h in 3.2sec (C63 - 3.4sec)
0-200km/h in 10.9sec (C63 - 12.6sec)
I think they're aware they could've done this, the problem is fleet emissions and economy. They were clearly trying to solve for tighter standards which now look like they're going to get relaxed.
Yea, that is one way to help "fleet emissions and economy" - dwindle the fleet by making a vehicle no one buys!
Naah. The name it's the least of its problem.
Such a great looking car. All more the shame that it gets such an unwanted powertrain.
This was an excellent review, I liked the comments from both testers as well as the tech breakdown of the EV parts etc. The track test was very informative and entertaining.
Must. Ignore. The... Bait. Nnnnghhh.I guess it depends on what you compare it with. It's just like Ferrari's latest hypercar, just dialed back![]()
This car would be close to perfection if AMG installs the 450kw (612PS) version of the V8 and removes the hybrid tech. These are the obvious benefits:
