Canay, simply excellent work. I draw a lot too, but I suck compared to you! I usually do drawings in simple pen, but lately I've been getting into color drawings and pental pen. Any tips for me? On your drawings, the tone and shading are just phenomenal. I am talentless when it comes to that and my drawings are full of mistakes. You've got real talent man! :usa7uh:

Great work. You spend a lot of time into the details and thats what I like. But the coloring is not soo good, because you just put a color onto the car.
You need to imagine the carbody is like a mirror which reflects the surroundings. That means you got warm (dark car color) colors used in the reflections of the ground, and you got cold (sky blue) colors which reflects the sky. And you got also white reflections (light) which is at the rounded shapes of the car. Let me show you what I mean: (SORRY IN GERMAN)

And here a little tuorial from me shading with Markers and crayons:

FIRST STEP: Do a good outlined drawing (I use ballpens) and start to workout the drakest (Black) Areas to get a good view for the car

SECOND STEP: Imagine your Horizont and draw a line which goes across your carside ... as shown. I took GREY and at the end of the horizont (farest point) I took BLACK.

Third Step: I take crayons and do the light (cool) Colors for the sky with them. Just scrub them and mix em with talkum powder to get a smooth color.

FINALIZE your car by Detailing!!! That makes it look more better and better ...

SORRY that this tutorial is that Quick but I hope it will help you!

Canay,

VIELEN HERZLICHEN DANK FÜR DEINE TIPS UND INFOS. Mach Dir keine Sorgen das Deine Hilf-Fotos auf Deutsch sind - ich bin nämlich ein DEUTSCHER. :D

Thanks for the tips. Really appreciated it. Your mirror analogy was easy to understand and logical too. Most of the time, I am on www.carspin.net. Would be awesome if you could drop by sometime. There are some Germans there. Me, Pommes and CWW who runs this car photoshop website: http://www.cwwcardesign.com/ :usa7uh:

Nochmals vielen Dank! :t-cheers:

Cawimmer430, don't be too modest! I really like your drawings, even if they aren't coloured (yet). They show lot of detail, very nice! :eusa_clap
And Canay, I repeat my words, excellent work :icondrool

Christian, your drawings are great, I espcially like the 911 drawing, looks great!

You may not be up to Canay standards, but still very good, don't be hard on yourself!

I found my new idol!

Some of my drawings (crap compared to yours!). I got more but didn't scan all of them yet. Many are still incomplete. Most are of Mercedes-Benzes and then Mitsubishi, my second love after MB.

Not yet finished...

Lately, I've been into coloring them and drawing them with pental pen. I screwed up on the interior of this Mazda...

Drew this in class once when I was bored...
Great drawings Chris :usa7uh: ......I didn't know you were so talented at drawing too :eusa_clap

I am drawing cars for7 years now. Each day up to 8 hours. I am working very hard on my skills.

He is right ... you are talented. Your basic work is very good. Just learn how to colorize in a good way. Dont be so hard to yourself.

Haha, cawimmer, you have no clue! where are the other wheels on this car??

j/k, mate!:usa7uh:

LOL :D

The picture I used showed this car parked on a field of grass. So I couldn't really see "the other side" where the other wheel would be.

Hey Canay, do you draw other things as well ...I mean, you could work as an illustrator, you skill is very advanced.

Drawing is a skill that is undervalued today I think. There was a time (1940's-1950's) when fashion illustrators became famous for their drawings of the Haute Couture from Paris ....now the fashion photographers are the stars of the fashion press. There is something in a drawing that is not always captured in a photograph.
