Israeli War!

Alright I might be a little late with this situation but seriously there are to many things going on in the world as we speak. We have another thread that was opened, by me, in reference to the North Koreans and after watching CNN all morning long with this whole Israeli conflict I had to come here and post what I have founed. Alright here we go(you know I love this):

Civilians have already died and an International Airport has become incapacitated. This is wrong in my opinion and the excuses being used by Israel to justify this campaign while the US looks the other way is wrong!

CNN has reported strikes by both Hezbollah and Israel.

Hmmm, I agree with you, but the statement.....ehh...you know....more substance.

This is how I personally feel and if I offend someone I am truly sorry.

I think this is wrong from the US's part. I mean, look at the situation here. This group is trying to fight for its right to have a piece of land, which some will definitely argue for hours about, was theres to begin with. That is not the point here, so please feel free to flame that which was not necessary. I think the point here is that Israel is escalating things to a point which is not necessary. It is like they are finding a reason to attack Lebanon and the US is looking the other way. Now the US says that they ahve a right to defend themselves? When did the US launch strikes for the soldiers that were caught or killed? Or what about the hostages that were be-headed? Oh that is right you say F-18 hornets all ove that. yea right! This is an excuse for Israel to escalate things, and lets hope they don't. I know Iran is keeping an eye and so are other Middle Eastern nations. Arguably it could be said that this may be the beginning of WWIII becuase with NK and the Middle East in an uproar--whomevers fault it is--things are going to get ugly.

freakin ISRAEL is nutts.. where in hell does your religion or common sense justify killing of several thousands to save A SINGLE HUMAN BEINGS life???

they are out of control..and the whole world is just sitting and watching..without acting.. and i dont require that they help the palestinians..but if you are quitly watching now.. then shut the hell up and watch quitly when the sorrounding muslim nations go to attack on israel..

Ohh no that wont happen..then we will run to aid israel..

dont have words for this damn situation.. extremely upset.. ( please forgive me)

Its ok.

I can see your point and unfortunately you are right. It really is unfortunate that this situation is taking place.

i didn't have a chance to follow the news these days, but the links you provided, Mike, are very informative.

All i see is that a new world or middle east crisis is on the way. I don't know what the results might be, but one thing is sure. Filling up your car will cost even more...

the situation over there is spinning out of control so fast i have no clue what is going to happen. I guess you could say i support palestinians but in no way do i support the violence that they commit. Isreal on the other hand totaly took this and blew it up and took it one step to far. First they have been taking the Palestinians land for many years now, i had gotten very happy and thought that there was great progress when last summer?? they started to give it back. But now what they are doing is setting the palestinians farther and father back into the stone age. First they are blowing up homes blowing up all routes of transportaion airport roads. How do they justify all this? a missing solder. Now they are firing bombs at lebanon to:t-crazy2: and the part that i really cant stand is that my country (USA) is standing behind them and telling them to do what they have to do. Last week it was North Korea now its this, what is it going to be next week?

Update CNN is trying to confirm that the guerrillas are trying to transfer the prisoners of war to Iran.

that could make things a thousand times worse to get iran involved. I just wonder if any other of the muslim countrys in the region will take any action against Isreal?

Audy Rudy they may do something, but I can't say for sure. You never know.

Lebanon is being hit pretty hard and to tell you the truth God knows what Iran will do or any other Middle Eastern Country will. The truth is that this is getting pretty bad. Israel is using a lot of its artilery and hopefully the US will not give them weapons under the table like it was done in the Arab Israeli War with Nixon.

Just to freshen things up; the current iranian president is really dumb as you probably know, and he has said several things such as "Israel shouldn't even be on the world map" (not an exact quote but something like that). So they just might get involved in this and they'll probably be backed up by the Russians if it gets ugly.

You are correct. However, I highly doubt that Russia will get that much involved. As a matter of fact I highly doubt that Iran will get involved publicly*.

I think this situation is getting worse:

CNN is saying now that Lebanon has hit a port in Israel

also

Hezbollah has launch 70+ missiles.

hello from beirut lebanon,

Hey guys, I thought you might want to know what it's like from where the shit is hitting the fan
So far there has been at least 50 civilian casualties, many of which are children, most major highways in and out of the capital beirut have been bombed at least once. Civilians are now forced to flee high risk areas by foot. Electricity and water are no longer available in most of southern areas. 3 runways at the airport have been damaged by precise air strikes and the airport is not operational for atleast the next 48 hours. Lebanon is under an air, sea and land blockade, getting in and out of the country is near impossible. Most people are now rushing to get supplies and fill their cars with gas ( the lines at the gas stations are unbelievably long). the Capital has been spared from any direct airstrikes so far but that could change any second...(otherwise it would have been just another amazing day to lie down at the beach, just to think: from heaven on earth to living hell in less than 24 hours....only in lebanon) will keep in touch

If the Lebanese goverment and armed forces would have acted against Hizbollah
and eradicated it from Lebanon, none of this would have happened.

And no Artist, Egypt, Jordan and Irak won't attack Israel.
Iran, who knows.

if only it was that simple....

DocM nice to see you on talking about this.

Please be safe and try to avoid getting into trouble.

I truly think this is a mistake from Israel's part, however, what is Lebanon going to do? Now Hazbollah is claiming they did not fire any rockets whatsoever. What do you think DocM?

I am seeing that at airliners.net it is being discussed.

Does Lebanon have a military? Is it true that they support Terrorists? Maybe Israel was planning this for months and just found an excusee (the kidnapping of soldiers) to do this. It is not justified whatsoever.

I was told once by a friend that if a man runs to a bus with a bomb and blows it up it is looked upon as an act of terrorism, however, these people (the palestinians) do not have a military and millions of dollars of support form a country like the US, and therefore this is the only way they can fight a war. So sad...

I think both sides of this conflict are at a strategic stalemate. Isreal can't stand by and tolerate aggression from their neighbors, but at the same time, when they retaliate like this they only make matters worse. So sure, maybe you'll get back your kidnapped soldiers, but in the process you've killed tens of Palestinians, and made alot more enemies.

Since the Palestinians have no legitamate armed resistance, there's nobody to sanction when things go wrong. It just ends up being some guy in some house being bombed, and the rest of the neighborhood suffers for having these guys living with or around them. But how could you blame them, when the guys firing the rockets into Isreal espouse a popular view?

The conflict is intractable, so I suggest the entire region be tossed into a gigantic Glad™ bag and shipped to the moon, where they can settle their dispute without involving the rest of us, who are hard at work thinking about German cars and the like.

Very true. If only glad bags were that big, and it was that easy. Obviously this situation may worsen and if for some reason it gets better and ends you are right, they will have more enemies than friends and the US will continue to look like a supporter of Israel (which is obvious).
